My Hobby, Diecast Car Models Collection
« on: March 01, 2014, 12:13:19 PM »
Hi Everyone, I'd be sharing my hobby here i.e Collecting Diecast Car Models.
Let me brief what Diecast Car models actually are, these are 100% replica's of real Cars, interior, exterior, each and everything is replicated to the real car in a small scale.

The scale i am collecting is 1/18 which is sized almost 10-12 inches long and 3-5 inches wide depending on the car.

Ill keep the thread updated daily, i have got 100's of photo's to share :)
I hope you would like and appreciate.

Enjoy!

Did some modifications in this model,
- Lowered Suspension
- Leather Base
- Stainless steel Laser Marked name plate
- Stainless Steel Dual Exhausts.

The luxurious interior, love it.

Lets play in the sand :)

Apart from the fact that i personally see no sense in collecting other than real, lifesized cars,
your photographing skills are pretty spot on! Good work, keep it up :D

I find it way more pointless to collect "real, lifesized cars", as cars are made to be driven, not to rot away in a garage.

Apart from that... have you heard that most hobbies are somehow pointless? It's not the nicest thing to point out when somebody is showing off his efforts.

Hahahha you would feel it pointless but the hobby is afterall a hobby, we love cars so we collect the models, once you see them in your hands you will be like wow, there's a group on Facebook called Diecast Arena, do check it, people got 1000's of models and i guess if they sell it, one can easily acquire and 1/1 (real) ferrari ;)

Ill keep on sharing my collection, and, thanks people for the appreciation, atleast for the photography, lol.

I used to do the exact same thing. Had about 50 of those 1/18 cars. But I played alot with them at first, so they became a bit ruffled up. When I got a bit older I started collecting them, and had a pretty nice collection. I almost only had supercars: Ferrari 459, Lamborgini Diablo, Dodge Viper, etc..

I think you should keep that up! I love it!

I collect 1/64 hot-wheels cars, but only real ones. None of that "Way-2-Fast" garbage. I try to get 'em in plain colors - I don't like the corny decals and vinyls. Right now I have 288 of them in wall display cases. Every time I transport them to another home (I've moved three times in the last year), I analyze them for chipped paint. If I so much as spot one tiny flaw, I remove them from my collection. I've spent about $1,000 on these cars so far. Some of them cost $100+, like the Veyron and Murcielago SV.

When I was younger, I had probably 700+ hot-wheels cars, that I played with all the time. Now that I'm older, I just like to make them look pretty on the wall. I also bought a sixteen-foot, six-lane downhill drag track for them. Aside from my 288 on the wall (in two 144 capacity cases), I have about 50 "racers". They're duplicates of ones I have in the cases, but these ones have the decals and racing vinyls. These are the cars that I send down the track. I have a few friends that have a solid hot-wheels collection as well (blame me for getting them hooked). We sometimes race our cars together, to see who has the fastest one.

Ironically the fastest car so far is a 1969 Firebird.
