Hai guys!
I haven't been very active the last 24 hours (not that it should be noticed by anyone or something lulz - although my friends @ Prypiat with 3 hands and 1 leg are probably going to mind that I didn't hang out with them). That's cuz' I've been playing GTA:IV!
At first I was very frightened that DAMN - I'm not going to run the damn game well. Then I ran it and... oh my godzies - it works like a piece of charm with decent FPS on good settings.

The phone really does seem like it is added in MS Paint, but it isn't. And the people are flying upside down because... they are - simple... because of physics or something.

Game crashes for me, either freezes, crashes to desktop or the screen will go white. :(
The 10-15minutes I have managed to play were pretty sweet, runs smooth once I managed to get the settings right.

got hit by a subway and almost died tho at the end, then found out a ton of shots just barely missed killing me in that SUV at the end, proving a quote I heard from someone, "War is just luck."
BTW: how many tries for Late Checkout (the hotel mission at the Majestic)? It took me 22, and won by 2hp and a rocket :<

got hit by a subway and almost died tho at the end, then found out a ton of shots just barely missed killing me in that SUV at the end, proving a quote I heard from someone, "War is just luck."
BTW: how many tries for Late Checkout (the hotel mission at the Majestic)? It took me 22, and won by 2hp and a rocket :<
I don't know the mission Late Checkout, perhaps I don't just remember it. How much (%) of the game completance is it?

I don't know the mission Late Checkout, perhaps I don't just remember it. How much (%) of the game completance is it?
ah forgot, but it's that one where ur at a hotel then you go up an elevator then u have to kill everyone in the penthouse suite or something :<
btw anyone know how to get past "Catch the Wave", the mission where u have to steal the cocaine out of a boat or something?

I remember the Late Checkout now, it was pretty good. There were also 2 other guys (that I think you could choose fate of - kill or leave although they were with red markers - I don't know). I did that mission on the first try, I was really lucky to stay alive once I got up to the roof, as I was shot from the back (like... hardcorely pwnt into the back).
In Catch The Wave, you have to get the truck and then get it to the docks, right? It is a long way there, yet you can "cut" it kind of by not filling in what the GPS properly says by making a u-turn when you've turned left at some point, then down the bridge in opposite direction. If you get there, jump out of the truck as soon as the cutscene ends and kill as much mofos as possible. When you see Paul approach the warehouse and moving in, follow him - otherwise he'll be dead very soon. When you've past the goons in the warehouse, Paul will take the boat on right dock and you'll take the one on left (there are some more goons on the dock bridges I guess - not exactly sure). Then 2 boats will follow you, just take them out. Follow Paul and it'll be done.

32/32 multiplayer is pretty fucking insane, and fun, but if you hate drive by in SA-MP your going to fucking hate IV-MP.

Car surfing is pretty much impossible in IV-MP, you just roll off the back of the vehicle.

To my surprise there actually is a server browser in the game, I've been playing 32/32 TDM games, sometimes 16 v 16 or 4v4v4v4 and its crazy fun, the sync is insanely smooth compared to SA-MP, but the drive by sucks, its really powerful once you have a MP5, luckily if you aim good enough you can just head shot them through the windows.

I don't think the savegames transfer, as xbox360 uses a different way to store the savegames (?)

Hmmm I know it's funny but I don't really know how to install the latest and optimized driver for Grand Theft Auto 4. I've downloaded it a while ago but I don't want to install because I don't have any idea how to install that and I don't want to break my PC. [I might do something wrong ffs] Can anyone here teach me how to install that driver? =p

It looks amazing now that i fixed some framerate issues, but it still sticks at around 10-15fps, 15 being as good as it gets, 20 playing GTA2 style. It's still stunning to get in to chases with foxnub and just see how everything reacts to your moves. I love it.

Yeah, the PC version quite literally dropped the ball on this release. It came out as a peice of crap only to be forgotten. I tried contacting Rockstar support myself to find some lag fixes because I MEET ALL THE RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS and still rarely see 15 frames per second, and I still haven't gotten a single reply either.

i can run my pc in high texture and render with a large view distance tho its in 800x600 :/ and it gets to 15
when i made my textures lower nothing affects it. but when i increase the resolution in 1680x1050 i have 3 fps lol but in the lowest i only get 15 like fox

actually it won't run on anyones. Since it is a direct port for a tri-core and it would run best on a 4ghz quad or something, we're all fucked. Rockstar failed. Miserably.

Meh.. GTA:IV for PC was a failure - I've been waiting for this game for serveral months and all i get is a huge fps-lag. :( However, i have had fun completing the new story line and side-missions.

Turning off video capture (that records clips) does help
Adding extra virtual memory (might help)
Right click>my computer>properties>advanced>settings>advanced ''Virtual memory'' click change
I put initial size @ 4046
Maximum @ 4092 (I heard it does help) either way, i tried it lol
If your gx card has a new driver out ''try using that one'' rather then 180.84, i noticed the new driver was way smoother then gta (patch 180.84) REMEMBER to uninstall the driver 1st, before installing new ones

EVERYTHING does not have to be on HIGH or max, run it on 800x600
For me i created a commandline.txt & put it in the gta folder, in there all i have in commandline.txt is
-availablevidmem 2.5 <-- what that does is
Example. My gx card is 1gb 1084, when i put -availablevidmem 2.5 (now my gx card in game is) 2500

IF YOU REALLY WANNA PLAY (LIKE I DID) Lower your XP settings instead of ''quality'' you want ''performance'', same goes with your ''gx card settings'' you want it to be on performance
- on some 'gx card driver settings'
you DO NOT WANT IT TO BE ON ''application controolled'' < (FOR ME) set it to off
in the game, i usually have everything low, & the distance & quality distance (i think) would be on 75+ for both..if it becomes laggy, lower the one that controlls ''the memory your using'' & dont change the other one (distance)
theres a file out there ''GTA IV timecyc.dat Tweak''. where if everything is on low (if you cant seem to run good on high & see good details/view) - this what it does is, distance on low/quality in game on low - this file, makes the distance on ''high quality'' without you actually messing with the game settings...

Today, i installed GTA4 and tired to play, but i was not able to play. It says that memory usage in exceeded or smth. I have 1.2 gb graphics, but in memory usage it shows 59 mb. I am able to play other high graphics game than GTA4 , but not this one. Does anyone know what the problem is ? or patch ?
