It would be a cool option don't u think? It will make players able to plan there own routes. Many ppl are probably bored with standard races, and in normal custom point to point it's easy to get lost. It would just add a commands /setcheckpoint between /startpoint and /finishpoint or however it's called.

And? No risk no fun. JK, In custom point to point it's possible to put start on the strip and finish at the top of the building. The race hoster looses his cash even if noone finished the race so why should he do this?

For this, there shall be a maximum distance between them.

Something like this will be added for LW3.0 races. Also, as robbynab said, we can set a maximum distance by summing the distance of all the checkpoints, so stuff like that isn't done.
