wow! impressive! What's its requirements?
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: Nemesis on November 16, 2011, 07:13:42 PM
Not really a legit requirements list as it don't even name anything but:

Minimum System Requirements

* OS: 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
* CPU: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
* RAM: 2 GB
* HDD: 6 GB
* Graphics: 512 MB card
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9.0c
* Internet for Steam activation

Recommended System Requirements

* OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)
* CPU: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
* RAM: 4 GB
* HDD: 6 GB free disk space
* Graphics: 1 GB Graphics Memory
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9.0c
* Internet for Steam activation

Few days ago i could barely run it on low, I have a AMD Phenom II X2 550 @ 3.1GHZ, 4GB DDR3 Ram and I USED TO HAVE a Geforce 8400 gs (512mb), then I replaced the card with a ATI Radeon Juniper HD 5770 (1GB GDDR5) and I can max it at around 55-60fps most of the time, which made me jizz

Edit: Excessively.

That looks amazing man.

I bought morrow wind like 2 yrs ago, but it would not work on my PC. And ive never tried it again. Then a few months later a friend of mine had Oblivion and i tried that out on my PC well it didnt work aswell so i played it at his house few times. I never really got round to trying it out on my new PC though... Id really like to get back into these type of games again as they are so much better programmed nowadays..

Yeah I'd probably get bored after 1 hour, I don't have the patience for these kind of games.
Actually I don't have patience for any kind of game at all.

But yeah I would play it just to check out why everyone's wet about this.

Normally these kind of games are not really my style, but this one is just amazing. I love the way everything looks and the open world is just awesome. Wherever you feel like going, you're able of going there.
I just think the fighting is kinda hard because whenever there's ppl like: "Hey I know you", and it turns into a fight, I lose :(

I'm getting killed by this Orc god's servants. I need to beat them to make daedric armour and finish the game basicly, wanna know how it looks and I'm out.
Sounds kinda geeky all in all, but this game has this amazingly massive open world, there's even mods coming out as we speak to enhance gfx!
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: Nemesis on November 26, 2011, 01:19:06 AM
Whats daedric armour got to do with finishing the game, sure your not doing some sort of side mission?
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: S3rs on November 26, 2011, 01:26:24 AM
Yeah I finished the main story line already and now I got some side-quests.
Basicly I just want the best armour set, see how it works and then I guess I'll be playing some more side-quests from time to time.

I had the ending screened but I don't wanna spoil anything here.
I've just finished Pieces of the Past and I dont know, but even on my lvl 37 char it's fucking hard to get those Daedric dudes killed.

Oh and there's plenty of bugs to get your character leveled up real fast, Youtube does the trick.

Hahahahha s3rs look at your post earlier in this topic about not being into any game at all, I thought I loved this game, im only on like level 20 xD

Yeah the daedra have always been a bitch, you probably knew this already if you played Oblivion as it involves them ALOT (and also the Blades, which are referenced in Skyrim) - btw: Did you join the dark brotherhood? Those were some of the best missions in Oblivion and no doubt Skyrim too

EDIT: ALSO, join stormcloaks or imperial legion: You get to do stuff like defend cities from armies and invade forts with your guys and shit

Alot of stormcloak guards will just invite you when you talk to them, or try going to Windhelm, where the town Jarl is Ulfric stormcloak, the leader of the rebellion, and speak to him

Nah you can't join the imperial legion in Oblivion, but the Gray fox feature is awesome ^_^

What I loved in Morrowind was the open magic system - you could even fly the whole map! What I hated about it was that it was really booooooring and I never managed to finish it (got bored).
Oblivion didn't have such an open magic systen, actually they fucked up magic, it was nothing really mysterious about it, I love when game has some kind of secrets and stuff. In Oblivion I found a quest which was about some SUPERMEGAPOWERFULANCIENT SPELL and spent a few hours completing it, at the end it looked really interesting, thunders started to hit, armagedon and stuff, and finally I recieved... a spell that was weaker than the weakest one I was using! For God sake, who makes this quests?! But the game itself was better, it wasn't so boring, and with elixirs I had cameleon 120%, I could kill the guards withour them realising it :D

So you say Skyrim is worth buying? I was wondering if I should buy it for Christmas for my dad (who said that a gift can't be useful for me too, huehuehue).

crap this game is too big for me right now :o

this will take forever.... the details are epic btw.. and i can play it on max. settings in FULL HD with a cheap ati 5770 pcs+ and the game starts in like 5 seconds.. really nicely programmed.

but i dont really like the balance.. you kinda dont focus on a specific fighting style.. you always can do magic and sword fighting together.. i dont really like that :-\ i either want to be a hardcore mage or a fucking berserker. not something between.

but really.. this PC version is so heavily affected by this playstation/xbox bullshit.. the menus and shit are annoying. also wtf there is no fucking bar with slots for healing potions, different weapons and so on.. just wtf.. useless PC adaptation :S

besides that this game kicks ass. rivers do really look fucking epic and all this badass huge mountains everywhere.. :)
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: Nemesis on December 17, 2011, 09:39:19 PM
Yeah my HD 5770 maxxes it out too with no problems at all

About the menus, you can favourite stuff and then just use Q to quickly equip it, not just items but shouts and magic too, just something to know if you already didn't

And all you have to do to be "hardcore" at something is to just use the perks you get when levelling up on that specific type, i.e. destruction magic if you want to be a brickhouse magician or sneaking if you plan on joining the dark brotherhood
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: BikeDriver on December 18, 2011, 12:28:32 AM
yea i know about the favourite stuff but its annoying because this was designed for fucking joypads.

wtf do i have the 100 keys on my keyboard for when the game only uses like 10? i hate this :(

i killed my first dragon yesterday and then i had to sleep ;(
the dragon fight was pretty funny but nothing compared to the boss fights in "Dark Souls" for PS3 and Xbox. those are on an entirely different level.

I'm hardcore wizard, I got my fireball in one hand and my ice storm in the other. If they are resistant to fire they get the ice and vice versa.

Also dragon fights become less of a big thing, today i came across one that was flying around and trying to burn a giant.

I don't think so, it's more sandbox (if it is like the previous ones). Ye, you travel the world with wand/bow/crossbow/sword/axe/otherheavyshit and kill monsters/people for some case, but unlike in the witcher you can do whatever you want, you don't even have to complete the missions and you can travel the whole world. And you can jump :P

i now started playing it again.

its really frustrating that even in the very beginning you can go anywhere, to any city and you will barely find deadly enemies at all in the wilderness.

besides the balance this game really is great and gigantic.. i like it because its kinda empty. enemies are not annoying, they are something special. normally in an open world RPG you find a new fucking enemy behind every corner and tree. in skyrim its done way better - more "realistic" ;)

i also like how you gain experience for things like forging a sword. its hard to describe this game in a few words :P

the dragon fights get pretty boring over time, its annoying when you are a sword user and this fuckface dragons dont land on the ground .___________.

all in all its a pretty fantastic game with a few rather big blunder..
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: Zaina on February 04, 2012, 03:06:45 PM
I played Skyrim quite a lot in late November - mid December. The game world is beautiful and immersive but Beshesda has again failed to balance the game mechanics properly.

The leveling up system isn't as catastrophically broken as it was in the first versions of Oblivion but still it's too unbalanced for serious gameplay. Character levels way too fast in the early levels and way too slow at the later levels and most skills rise too fast. The difficulty system is broken. In well-planned difficulty system it would be: the harder the difficulty, the more deadlier the enemies are and the level up speed would also be slower. In Skyrim it's: harder the difficulty, the faster you level up.

I first tried to play Skyrim at normal difficulty, the leveling up speed was relatively sane but all but the boss enemies were pitifully easy to kill...like just 2-3 sword hits. In the harder difficulty levels the enemies are challenging but you start to level up way too fast. After few dungeons and little bit of blacksmithing I was already near lvl 20 and had just done few easy quests.

I tried few level up balancing mods but they didn't seem to work properly. Mostly the mods seem to be  improvised stiched-up-together things cos Bethesda hasn't released the Creation Kit yet.

I'm gonna start new game after Bethesda has shitted out few patches and modders have had time to to make good mods (especially game balancing ones) with the help of CK.
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: [JOKER]Miczi on February 04, 2012, 03:33:11 PM
Well, if it comes to the difficulty level many games are fucked up these days. They are just too easy, confirming to the older titles, in which you could repeat one moment 50 times, getting so pissed that you wanted to smash the fuckin screen, but when you finally succeeded it gave you so much satisfaction. Example? The Pilot School in San Andreas, I've spent so many hours trying to finish it!

And for some reason they really fail in balancing the difficulty level - I've read that in The Witcher 2 on normal difficulty level you could kill the boss with a few hits, but on hard level you died after being hit twice. How retarded is that?! I just want to be forced to put some effort into finishing the game, not just play it like I'm a God but I'm not some nerd maniac either, who can press enter on numpad and escape with one hand...

Mount and Blade has a greatly balanced difficulty system in my opinion. I have it set so that I have the same HP, dmg etc. as those hundreds of bots cause I already know the game and I can kill them quite easily, but there are levels fitting even the total nabs, for example you get 1/3 dmg if a bot hits you etc. Maybe that's the problem, maybe instead of setting just the "difficulty", players should be able to set whatever they want - the number of enemies, their hp, exp rate and stuff, not just one option.

i prefer games with only one difficulty level. like dark souls.

Meh. Of course, there should be something special for those who play on the hard diff., but nowadays noone will make a game that is "unfinishable" for newbie players - it won't sell.

Of course, some people like to be able to say "Im awesome, cause I finished the fuckin game on hard". But for people like me the difficulty level is an option to optimize the game - playing Spore on easy level (yes, I know it's for kids, but still) is so fucking boring. On hard it's still easy, but forces you to think before attacking a group of dinsaur-like monsters... Or Empire: Total War. This game is really good - not only the battles, but the campaign itself, I remember myself sitting at school and drawing fucking map of Europe with a full plan of invading it from India. It really required preparing for a bigger war, otherwise even if you had a fucking big army the enemy could own you by cutting a source of income, like pirating the main trade ways. But there were also games (unfortunately can't name any at the moment) which were so fucking difficult I simply thought "fuck this". And that is not what a developer aims at.
Title: Re: Skyrim
Post by: [eVo]PvtBenny on February 09, 2012, 09:38:05 PM
When a game is to easy everyone would be like fuck this and stops playing it as well, developers need to find balance between 'to difficult' and 'to easy'. But nowadays with the new generation of gamers (the frickin stupid retarded 12 yr olds.) everything needs to be fast paced. I for one hate fast pace unless its a game like Team Fortress 2, but realistic looking games such as Battlefield 3 they need to be paced at a good speed. Call of Duty comes nowhere close to being realistic in that aspect its a simple run and gun shooter nothing like how it looks like in the real world. Anyway i could go on and on but then it would stray away from this topic.

Skyrim looks like an awesome game. Difficulty should be a setting: Easy, Medium, Hard (or different names for it) Then you can pick what ever you want.

killing an old (or elder?) dragon as a melee on hardest difficulty isnt too easy... needed A LOT of potions and F5 + F9ing xD

those thing kinda reminded me of this guy:

I finally started playing this :P Couldn't decide what class to chose, so I restarted the game 4 times already... But now I play as a "Nightblade" (at least they call it so on YT)  - dark elf, a mix of assassin and mage. I play on master difficulty and I love it, I really have to think for a while before attacking an enemy, use many spells, potions and poisons. I play it slowly so I probably won't finish it for months, but at least I'm really enjoying it :D
