Title: Problem with SA
Post by: Runey on April 21, 2014, 02:14:27 PM
Hello there,I'd like to say that my SA doesnt want to install. :( I've got a bug with GTA San Andreas Game Data,Folder:Models, and the error with the file...E:\data3.cab,error:Data error(cyclic redundancy check).I hope there is a way to fix this shit. The reason i deleted SA is bcz i installed some mods yesterday(that i didnt like very much). As i said every single idea(reply) will be helpful!
Thanks for reading this!

Did you uninstall it properly? If so open the game directory and delete every file that's still left, best delete the whole Rockstar Games folder.
Make a backup of your user files (/documents/gta san andreas user files) and delete that folder aswell, then try again.
Close all other programs during the installation and make sure no antivirus is messing around, deactivate them.

It is VERY important to create a backup when you start modding GTA SA. Not everything looks great like we expected it to be.

I would make sure that I deleted everything gta SA related (except user files) and do a clean install again. As far as I know, I never get any conflict with antivirus - GTA SA.

Well anyways, do as Ezno said, and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Good luck, nub! <3

I think i kinda misread the ,,Make a backup file, then delete...,, and ,,deleted everything gta SA related (except user files)...,, parts :(
I did everything else that enzo said, but i forgot this one...Is it possible to get out of this situation???
p.s Tnx idamnz! <3

Well that's the step that I would do before I start moding my game. Cause I know at some point I'll hate the mod and want the original gta sa back. By "user files", I actually meant your save files. The one you save in Single Player.

I would've done that already but the problem is i deleted the dem user files.I tried to install a few times after that(enzo's and your reply) and didnt work bcz of,i guess, the DEM user files!  :-\
I'll try to install it again.I mean i turned off my computer bcz i had to sleep.Maybe it'll work, who knows!  :)

- Go to start typ in the search box

- %appdata%

- In the address bar click on appdata.

- You will find 3 folders named Local, Locallow and Roaming. Go through each of these folders and remove anything related to GTA SA.

This will most likely fix your problem. Making a backup of the game does not work since these files will be altered as well sometimes. If you do backup, you have to backup these files as well.
