Hello :)
Well today i was copying samp to my new laptop and here is his information

GTA VC and San Andreas doesnt work on 64bits, This thing was also happened with me, I was unable to play VC and San Andreas, Re-install your Windows in 32bits.

I too have 64bit and it works fine, just open it in winXP compatibility mode.

Not really,i'm running GTA SA on 64-bits of Win 7 without any issues,works just fine,sir!

First, get your screen resolution windows uses.
Then, open your GTA directory and find le gta_sa.exe
Make a shortcut to that exe.
Place shortcut on desktop.
Right click shortcut and choose 'properties'.
There's a field named 'target' or sum like that, which should contain something like
"A:/Games/GTA San Andreas/gta_sa.exe"
change that to
"A:/Games/GTA San Andreas/gta_sa.exe" -width=<insert X here> -height=<insert Y here>
(obviously change <insert X> and <insert Y> to your windows resolution X x Y)
Safe the shit.
Hit the shortcut to start up SA.
Go to options and change the game resolution as you like (obv not 800x600).
Safe the shit.
Close game.
Delete shortcut.
Play sa-mp.

Pretty sure it's just..
-width=1080 -height=640
-width=1080 -height=640
What's sad is I can't set my resolution to 1360x720 in single player. Maximum on 1280x768. Works fine on sa-mp though.

@playazzz: try deleting your gta_sa.set from le user files and then try the stuff from above posts. If this all doesnt help:
-Find a friend/classmate/alternative self with a computer that runs gta.
-Run gta there.
-Set resolution to desired value ingame.
-Close game.
-Copy gta_sa.set from frinds userfiles.
-Paste into your user files.
-?????
-Profit.
(Also, you may wanna update your graphics card drivers)

i got it from my another laptop, but when trying open semp dat wat i can see

and i tried to delete gta_set file i got the
Error: cannot find 800x600x32 video mode?
its my luck its messed up :(

Try to update your MSVC++ library, you can find the newest versions on Microsoft's sites somewhere.
Also update your graphics card driver, then run gta_sa as admin, in compatibility mode winXP.
Also give it a try to start it via elevated command line to try that resolution trick again:
Click Start, search for 'cmd', right click cmd.exe, choose 'run as administrator',
navigate to your gta_sa.exe file
cd <insert path here> and run it with options: gta_sa.exe -width=1024 -height=768
If this all doesn't work delete everything and reinstall gta from your very first original source (CD/DVD/copy), then try again.

Have you thought that maybe your monitor doesn't display 800x600x32 ? I recommend you check that first

Hello .
If someone is still suffering from this problem , Here's a simple but effective fix !
Firstly , on the desktop , Right click and choose "Graphic Properties" (There will be an Intel icon near it) So click on Graphic properties that has Intel icon near it .
Next , Click on "Display" tab . Click on "Custom Resolutions" .
There will be a warning . Just continue by pressing "Yes" .
Under "Add" tab , Enter the following .
In width box : 800
In height box : 600
In refresh rate box : 60
That's all you need to do . Just click "Add" button located in the bottom right corner and add it . Close the graphic properties .
Open GTA Sanandreas and Enjoy :) :) . Thank me later :)
(Note , you can change the resolution in > Settings > Display Settings > Advanced Display Settings > Resolution)
