So why is nobody mentioning Mars?

The "Mars One" Mission will, if it ever happens, turn into a horrible disaster :D

There is no way to test ones suitability for the mission and they will all go insane and kill each other and shit :D
On big brother, they can still throw someone out. But you can't be thrown off mars. Nobody can tell in what sort of human being you will turn, if you are stuck on this shitty giant piece of rock and sand for the rest of your life.

Of the named planets, I don't think we will ever inhabitant any. They are too far away.

Let's hope Sir Aldrin doesn't screw up then (http://time.com/4014856/buzz-aldrin-colonize-mars-2040/).

not to mention that traveling at the speed of light or using worm holes still sounds as science fiction.

And sadly, it still will sound like that when we all are dead ;(
Until the earth goes to shit, people will rather make war than paying for space programs or researches which won't show instant results.

What was that famous quote again? "Too early to explore space, too late to explore earth." And exploring the oceans is... meh...
