Title: Story behind your nick
Post by: Runey on December 28, 2016, 01:42:31 AM
Hi. I've thought of making this topic recently, so people could tell us why they started playing with their current nick, and obviously to share a (probably) interesting story with all of us. The point is simple; explain how and why you chose your nick that your online friends are familiar with now, and tell us the story (if there is anything to be told). This applies only if you have anything to share or if, most importantly, you want something to share and post here. Rules remain clear : keep your bullshit away from this place including: racism, sexism, flamebait, insults, foul language etc. Basically, forum rules.
You don't follow the rules, you be an idiot, you be off along with the expected punishment. Got it?

There have been number of assumptions coming from different people that were questioning my nick in the past, but the majority always thought my nick derives from a name of pretty famous (and retarded) football player Wayne Rooney. In fact, this is what most people think of when asking around about my name. My nick 'Runey' (former 'Runi') is supposed to be a synonym (can't explain it better) to 3rd Blacklist NFS Most Wanted's Racer's name, Ronnie. Indeed, he was my favourite character in whole NFS series, and i remember having a lot of trouble beating him when i was little. When i was about to start playing SA:MP in mid 2011, this is the name i could think of that would suit me the best, so yeah.
Fun fact : We even used to look alike during my longhair period (2011-2014) when i had really long blond hair, and when a lot of people couldn't guess if i were male or female. ;D

Now feel free to write an amusing story lying behind your nick, will be cool reading that stuff.

Haha, i can clearly remember that one, made me laugh too hard.

Yes, Myle. I was thinking though, instead of bumping the old one we could use the new one, without any questions to be filled, but to use the almighty freedom of speech. This way users will be (maybe) inspired to write something more since there is no limit in what you write here.

Well, you can always do something to attract more players here, and it's exactly the point of the topic itself, isn't it? I've seen the forum been dead recently, so i'm just trying to get it back on its feet a little. Hopefully this topic won't become dead any time soon. ;)

Thanks for sharing your story with us (what's the name of the game, someone may be familiar with it).

As blewert already well knows  ;D my nickname originates from this program's label that was placed on my old laptop which i had just bought back then:

(https://littlewhiteys.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.roobaroo.net%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2008%2F06%2Fhp-quickplay.png&hash=74fd80e1007dde8a11abb1d3d15aa6858c93ab96)

When i was connecting to samp for the first time i was searching for a name to join with.. had no idea about what to choose so i looked around and saw this little label, whose name sounded nice to me. Hence my nick

Ok.

Myle is not my real name but a nick name which I use whenever I need/want to use a nick.It was named by my cousins during my childhood(8-10y/o) when we used to name each other(those days :') ).It's funny but I got attached to it more than my real name and people in my real life also calls me with this name to get a quick response, lol.Just got attached to it!

And you're right Runey, freedom of speech does makes it more interesting!

Me too Myle, I have 4 names and I use different ones according to where I am travelling so it is kind of a pain in the ass ...Anyways I ask people to call me by my school nickname (not Melt lol/just a play on my surname) and it's become a custom with time...

Good, reason yes.
My story: My friends have been calling me Milko since I was little, so I adapted to it. But when I joined VCMP, I was milko_the_ace until I found out that I'm the only Milko ever to play VCMP. ;D

I'm nicked TrueBlue because back in the day when I was playing WW2 fighter simulators I used to paint my plane's tail or my plane's nose in a blue color. Then squadron comrades started calling me Blue fighter, then I changed my username to TrueBlue to sound catchier and so that squadron mates can alert me quicker.

"TrueBlue check, 2 bogies, high at 1 o'clock"

"TrueBlue check 6"

"TrueBlue bogie behind us, I'll bait him you loop behind him"

From then I liked the username and I started using it for other games.

Enzo is an italian name.
As simple and unimpressing as it sounds, i just searched for a name that both sounded fast and deadly. Enzo did actually come to my mind from Enzo Ferrari, for the fast part. And for the deadly part i just picked Mort, which is french for death. Now to round it up i just made the surname sound like it was italian aswell with the typical 'elli' ending. = EnzoMortelli

The year was around 2005 and I was browsing to dafry.fi (http://www.dafry.fi), which is the website of Drummers' Association of Finland RY (RY is Finnish abbreviation for a registered, non-profit organization) to look up an article but I accidentally typed in "darfy" instead of "dafry". The word Darfy just got stuck in my head for a reason unknown and from that day on I started using it as my internet name everywhere.

Seafire

It started as ProGamerz123,when i first joined samp
after sometime i changed it to Progaming to match my Utube channel
After playing War thunder (A Realistic Tank/Aviation ww2 mmo game)
I found a neat RAF Warplane Named:
"Seafire"

Its a somewhat late Navy version of the Well known spitfire(Also a RAF Warplane)

Spitfires were relatively quick,Due to their powerful engines,it had WEP aswell(which was overworking the engine for exchange of more full consumption)
The Hurricanes were slower, due to its outdated engine and design,it was heavier than the spitfire aswell,
does not have WEP.(On most hurricanes)

And then there is the bf-109 and the fw-190s
And  also my beautiful yak-3P.
Al of which are lightning fast (except yak-3P which is basically a red helicopter with wings and vodka cannons on the nose, I mentioned it because of that) compared to spifires that are not Griffon powered.

Sorry guys for being off-topic but this discussion is hawt ATM.

I recommend Aces High 2 which is mostly offline but you get all ww2 planes and so.
I had a 17 year old potato laptop with the game installed and it ran at about 15 fps.

I have so many nicknames, but my mainly nick is Durkhani, which is known as my Cast.
So,when i started to play VC:MP,i joined a server (Little whiteys) as "Durkhani1,2,3" nick. And when i invited SMD to play VCMP,so he did played as my nick  >:( (Durkhani),so there here i set my new nick as Klein,Air_cruiser and much more so when SMD interested to change his nick as "SMD" (i don't know full form of SMD) and i did again change my nick as "Durkhani" and after three, four or five months i joined CF and left CF and then at the night i watched a movie  "Batman : The Dark Knights" and the villain (THE JOKER) name was Jester and i was interested to change my name as Jester (how a pretty & good name),and there i did and i rarely use "Durkhani" nicks. But i plays mostly as in Jester Nick
