I say it could have been an accident because if he really wanted to evade his death he had the opportunity to do it in the second 0:33 but he did not, then he went to the ladder to get off but he fell "maybe by accident" because when he went to the stairs he did not jump he just went running then he fell.

this is my point of view, I will wait for another admin to put his opinion too.
