They aren't being lazy - do you realize how much it takes to code new functions, then test them, make changes, etc? Well let me tell you - it takes more time then you at the moment think it does. We don't certainly need 0.2.5 done fast for simple reason - we don't want probably the last release of SA-MP be rushed through with bugs and mistakes - we want it bugfree. Also, I personally don't have anything against 0.2.2 R3, as the gameplay is just fine and you can now experience the wonderful textdraws properly. Always there can be something done and there are smaller bugs to fix, but I don't really see a reason to push it through.

The '70% done' has been there for some time now, but SA-MP development got closed for a while, don't you remember? It was because jacob started sharing the parts of the script that he had access through his 'community' - Zytronix.

Wowowo, where you're getting your information from?

No-one has confirmed that 0.3 release will be within December.
Also bots isn't a confirmed feature. Just because you saw it in leaked version doesn't mean it is there.

More then just crowded  ;D When server has 200 players on, some places are over filled, with 500, Admins will have to create new places like Ship, and whole LV i guess :D cuz if 500 players would be in LV, that would be madness :O

na , i keep my game mode based on lv. if you do all world wide you must have a realy crowded server else you see nobody but the increased vehicle limit gives you more freedom for like minigames. or other stuff since if you want to reach the vehicle limit you must place every square meter of sa full of cars :P

Version 0.3

    * Player limit: 500.
    * Vehicle limit: 2000.
    * Tick/sync rates can now be adjusted from the server along with the streaming radius.
    * Up to 2 billion virtual worlds (all server controlled).
    * The server maintains an accurate position of all vehicles, even when they're not being driven.
    * Visible damage on vehicles is now synced.
    * Many overall sync improvements including vehicle riding, lag compensation.
    * Players can now have different fighting styles.
    * Trains can now drive on both tracks and each carriage can have 5 passengers.
    * Many new scripting functions added.
    * All 0.2.2 scripts will be compatible with 0.3.
    * Solved issues with TextDraws and Menus.

There was a vehicle audio problem in previous releases that caused vehicles driven by other players, usually helis and planes, to become silent. This has been fixed in 0.3 and adds greatly to the overall feel of the game.

We have never released a version of SA-MP without first testing any new limits or features. That means over the next few weeks we intend to have a public beta and populate San Andreas with 500 players. This will be a very unique event in online gaming. If you would like to participate, keep and eye on the sa-mp.com main page as we'll be announcing the details there before the public tests start.

Damn... I wish they woulda' added the clothing.

the 2nd one.. it means that even if clothing were implemented in 0.3, only CJ would have clothing choices...

It's cool, I was there when they tested it, and it looks really cool. Also the bots with flying planes are really cool. :)
I bought weapons over there, and sad to see I only had one sawn-off shotgun. So I hope they also implement the duel wielding sawnoffs.. Because RW duels will be very boring and slow paced.. :)

Other than that, they've done a great job, and hopefully servers will get up to 500 people online!

It's quite fun. I got in late tho, played for like 20min or less.

Running was extremely slow, and as above said, 1 hand sawn off and as dugi said it can be scripted differently, so it's all good.

A LOT easier to hit others now, like most hits are critical.  ;D

What?? The beta test was just an almost scripless server, the gay walk and non dual weapons and all that is just a script... The actual improvements will do absolutely nothing to DM...

#sa-mp.test is invite only right now because no public testing is going on. There may or may not be more soon, but afaik from the last 2 tests, it's normally announced as it happens.

Personally I think one sawn off is more realistic... But then again... We don't go randomly killing people just because. We'd be in jail.

I believe as far as servers go I think they should limit who they let make a server so that we can join on an actual full server cause if it would be the same as it was in SAMP then we will have a 500 player server with only 80 people. In my opinion it would be a waste. So there is my solution.

I don't think it would just be about 80 people though.

I think 0.3 will attract the old players back again, and some new players will possibly be joning/more people may become more active.

So, instead of 80/500 we might get something like 200 or 150.. i'm not too sure.

If we had 500, LS and SF would be full too.

GTA IV sucks arse!

Anyhow, the sync in 0.3 is way better then in 02X. The hitboxes are almost on (if not on) somebody while running. Well, if you got a good ping tho. Not sure about 300+ pingers.

I'm glad its like that then.
If there were practically no hitboxes, it would probably make it easier, as you wouldnt need to aim exactly, just sorta spray/fire around their body area.

I played on the server LW's had for beta testing with Alvar, Faraday, ShadowFire, and some more people that can confirm that the hitbox were practically on the person with a ping up to about 150. Although I played with walking weapons mostly, where you have to aim more to hit the target..

Did you guys run in one way and tested it like that? If you were running in zigzags, you may think its on the person but you just had a lucky shot when the hitbox managed to be on the image from all the zigzags.
