just a quick poll to see what you think of race blocking.
tick 2 boxes, one being one of the first 2 choices, one being one of the last 2 choices

I hate it, it ruins newcomers chances of making money in a legit way. It's also stopped me from taking part in races, if I had the option, I'd kick or abuse people putting firetrucks at certain points of the "all around SA" race. I know even admins enjoy doing it, but I still don't take part.
If I'm playing and people are planning a race block I'll just go and attack them with a rustler or something to move them.
Obviously people say "well its a DM/freeroam server, you should be able to do anything" but completely ruining peoples races that was just sucks, unless the race had multiple routes, blocking just totally spoilts the fun for a lot of people.

meh I hate it as well, if it were me I'd have it against the rules. It's annoying to be in first place then have some little B in a truck blow up ur car. :<

I for one like it i enjoy trying to get around race blocks and i enjoy blockin a race.

I love raceblocks
Races are extremely boring without them and they serve as a challenge for everyone
And I love raceblocking too
It's just classic watching the noobs complain when they get messed up in first place, and then try type to kill you for like 2 hours :P
Absolutely love them, and I doubt racing will attract more attention if this becomes illegal

No doubt more people would race if they knew race blocking was not allowed.
If you block the motorway check point in SF near the pay n spray your not only ruining the race, your ending it, you say its fun, but if it was you and your race blocked you'd be screaming in main chat, which I have no doubt you've probably done before.

Conversely, more people would be kicked/banned for not following such a rule or "accidentally" bocking a race.
Also, there is no indication that more people would be involved with racing given that players blocking the race may not take part in a race if blocking was removed.
Personally, I enjoy it. I find it keeps races interesting.

Likewise, rustlers make races a bit more varied. Certainly I've attacked racers and blockers with a rustler and found that the winner was paying more attention to not getting shot than overtaking everyone.

I find race blocking very fun when I use Fluffy/Rhino/Tank to block racers. :D
15 mins later I find myself getting bountied and getting attacked by randoms. :o

I think it's all right. Usually I forget to block races even when I don't race, but whenever I do remember, it's fun.
And yes, getting blocked / rustlered while in 1st place is frustrating, but all it shows is that if I had driven better I could have gotten around the block...

I don't like race blocks when im racing, but i still want them there... race blocks allows people in 2nd, 3rd place etc to have a chance to win... like that one race, laps around julius thruway, without race blocks, 2 infurnuses going head to head will not require skill of either driver, the person ahead will win for sure... unless they get blocked.. whether they get ahead or not usually depends on the race start, which varies by lag... it sucks if you're first.. but its great if you're second......
and i also like blocking races if im bored... :)

Using IV as a guideline, the current races would simply be classed as GTA races - no holds barred, everything-goes killing and blocking.
However, it would be nice to have one or 2 standard races, removed from the world as a whole. That way you could choose which one you feel like doing at that particular time.

lol... gimme a Hydra during a race and i assure u noone will ever make it to the finish... gimme a heat seeking RPG and very few people will make it... if any.... xD
