I made this on the SA-MP forums so I thought I'd post it here too, some might find it useful.
Hey,
I thought I'd share a decent way to encode Fraps videos and put them on YouTube without much quality loss.
I'm totally new to this but these settings works just fine for me.
High Quality
I use Adobe Media Encoder CS4, and for HQ videos:
I used Fraps to record, half-size.
Under "Format" I choose H.264 and use a custom made preset.

Under "Format" I choose FLV|F4V and use a custom made preset.
I used Fraps to record, full-size.

Here's a HD video I made with HD encoding settings and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_izRBoJ4cQ0&fmt=22[/noembed]
Only difference from above settings that I set a different height since I ain't got a widescreen.

dang, I make my vids in Windows movie maker. Yes I know. I'm into music not that much into video. But when I upload them to youtube it's like shit quality opposed to when I play the file on my computer. Then it looks ok. Why does youtube do this, and how to avoid?

Just wanna add, if you have videos over 10 minutes, you can post it here on http://blip.tv/ (http://blip.tv/) ... only limit is under 100 MBs...

mega video (http://www.megavideo.com) has no size or time limit ::)

Just a small thing but isn't 48kHz a little high and wouldn't 44kHz suffice?
If you're wanting higher quality audio, wouldn't upping the bitrate be a better way of accomplishing this?
Dugi I think ffmpeg can do this it's just a pain to get the right command (also fraps uses its own proprietary compression which some things can't read e.g. Linux).

I don't know if this will be any good to you or even if will alter the quality of your videos. But here is a good programme that shortens the length of videos dramatically to various video formats. Well hope you find it useful. http://tinyurl.com/ah7zfv (http://tinyurl.com/ah7zfv).

Freeware: SUPER converter (by Softonic) pretty much converts any video/audio file you want to pretty much everything you can imagine. Using this programm for about 2 years now and it always did his job. ;)
