Private Messaging admins on IRC

This has been bugging me and others for a very long time. It's really annoying to log into IRC and having 20 messages from people just saying your name and saying they need help. So you try to message those people and of course they aren't around anymore.
Wouldn't it make sense to tell the admin you're pming what the problem is instead of just saying thier name?

We will be ignoring most people who just message us with our names. If you want help, clearly state  your problem and what nick you usually use ingame. That way, when we return, we can look into it and not have to chase down the person to see what they want.

I'd prefer to be messaged on the forum rather than IRC. Like Smoke said, its difficult to reply when that person is no longer online anymore.

Also one thing worth mentioning is that people don't seem to realize that most of the staff use irc bouncers, which allow us to stay connected to the network even if our computers are shut down. This means all the activity on the channels we are on, including personal messages, get through to us, however there's a high chance that there's no one actually sitting behind the computer to reply back to you.

That's a good point Darfy. Even if it may say we're online, we might not be.

Mine has an away message though. So if you see that I'm away, just tell me your problem and how to get a hold of you.

You can't. We use an invitation aystem.

The only way to become moderator/admin is if we, the staff team, invite you. That's a big if.

Bump! As of lately, I get lots of PMs with simply 'hi' and similar ones. Please directly state what is your problem otherwise I am not really prone to reply, besides it's really annoying.
