If you have a questionmark nearby try clicking on it you may have a reminder there you once put yourself.
Also be sure about capital letters and all that (capslock)

Also, windows XP or?

I think there's a way to change/delete your password. There's a bootable CD called AUSTRUMI. I don't know to much about this, but I think you could find some manuals for it easily. Good luck

Oks, so which windows do you have? To know which exact edition is important too, there are some easy solutions as far as I've googled, but it depends on your windowsversion as well..

Are you stuck at the logon screen or can you actually log into windows, but it will not let you run programs?

if it's case 1, then you need to get into administrator through safe-mode and reset your password, if you forgot the password to that, then the only way you can reset it is by running a bootable ISO that is capable of retrieving your password, linux live distro has a few, and there are others out there...

if its case 2, then it will depend on if you set it in administrator mode or not, if you set it on purpose to restrict certain programs, again you will have to go into admin^ as above, but if you didn't, then you're gonna have to either a)system restore, b)repair install from a boobable windows disk...

I hope this could help you:

Download this program first, is called LINUX_chntpw.exe --> Downoad

1 Run the file that you have downloaded and it will create a start up disk
2 Don't worry because the program is for linux, it will work anyway. Insert the CD and reboot
3 It will show you several messages where you'll have to press enter

Press return/enter to continue Press Enter
Probe for SCSI-drivers: [n] Press Enter

4 It will show you the partitions you have in your hard disks

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 510 4096543+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 511 897 3108577+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda3 898 1156 2080417+ b Win95 FAT32

Wnat partition contains your NT installation?
[/dev/hda1] : Press Enter or type where the partition is   (ex: /dev/hda2)

In Windows, the partitions and disks are called: C:, D:, E:, F:, etc
In Linux are called: hda1, hda2, hda3, hda4,....
If you have 2 hard disks, the other one would be called : hdb1, hdb2, hdb3, hdb4
Choose the partition wher Windows XP is installed, probably   /dev/hda1

5 Now it will ask you in what directory the password files are installed, by default is: (windows/system32/config)

What is the full path to the registry directory ?
[windows/system32/config] : Press Enter

6 There would be a list with the files you have in that directory. It will ask you to choose those files containing the passwords, by default: (sam system security)

Which hives (files) do you want to edit (leave default for
password setting, separate multiple name with spaces)
[sam system security] : Press enter

7 Now the chntpw program will start to edit the Users configuration

()========() chntpw Main Interactive Menu ()========()
Loaded hives: (sam) (system) (security)
1 - Edit user data and passwords
2 - Syskey status & change
- - -
9 - Registry editor, now with full write support!
q - Quit (you will be asked if there is something to save)

What to do? [1] -> Press Enter (Press 1 or Enter)

8 It will show you the users

RID: 03f2, Username: (Homer)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Administrador)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Plm)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Duffman)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Ping)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Pong)
RID: 03f2, Username: (Guest), disabled or locked*

9 You will be asked the username to which you want to change or delete the password, you must leave it on [Administrator] and press Enter

Select: ! - quit, . - list users, 0x(RID) - User with RID (hex)
or simple enter the username to change: [Administrador] Press Enter

Do you wish me to reset the failed count, unset disabled and lockout,
and set the "password never expires" option ? (y/n) [n] Press Enter

10 Type asterisk * to delete Admin's password

* = blank the password (This may work better than setting a new password!)
Enter nothing to leave it unchanged
Please enter new password: *

11 type Y (yes), ! (to exit), and q (to quit the menu), then 2 tymes Y
Do you really wish to change it? (y/n) [n] y
Changed !

Select: ! - quit, . - list users, 0x(RID) - User with RID (hex)
or simple enter the username to change: [Administrador] !

What to do? [1] -> q

Write hive files? (y/n) [n] : y

Calling write.rc to select write back sam file
About to write file(s) back! Do it? [n] y
Writing sam

12 Now take out the disk and restart your computer, Now you should be able to log in with the "Administrator" user without password.

One more way to get your user account pw changed:

Try the ERD Commander. It's a tool developed by Mircosoft, to rescue data from broken industry pc's.
Mircosoft offers a 30-Days Trial version for us "human" :P

Check http://www.geekstogo.com/2009/01/17/erd-commander-free-trial-from-microsoft/

or use google :)
Get rid of that fucking windows and get urself a mac ;)

Hope i could help you
