Router wont detect internet cable

Hey for some reasons i have to use a different router and different internet connection for a week and a problem occured.

I plugged the cable to pc and router and i see the little light on the port turning ON when i start my pc. At the moment my windows starts, the light on the router (on the port my cable is connected) turns OFF.

Therefore router behaves theres no cable plugged :S

I have googled it and uninstalled the network adapter driver and reinstalled a new one (the one windows finds) but still the same.

Any ideas, experiences?

Ps. Ive rebooted my router and tried all different ports.

check if your connection settings are alright, and find out if the standard gateway IP (your router) is set. If not, try another cable. On win8 also check if you by coincidence enabled flight mode.

Its win7 and ive tried with different cables.

Ipv6 and ipv4 are both enabled and set on obtain address automatically.

How do i check that standard gateway?

Ok i ran ipconfig and i see:

Ethernet adapter lan pretty much everything "media disconnected"

Alright little bit more googling and solved the issue. 

Just in case someone has the same problem in future:

Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> Properties -> Advanced:
Speed & Duplex - set to 100mbps full
wol & shutdown link speed - set to 100 mbps 1st

I just hope when i return to my original internet/router, it doesnt affect it O_o
