GTA San Andreas - Crash problems
« on: October 13, 2009, 10:28:21 PM »
Hey guys,

Thought some of you might had the same problem as me; The game randomly keeps on crashing!
Well, I have had it for a while, so I have found out some ways that MIGHT work for you.

My SAMP wont load anymore!? It just runs the singleplayer mode!
This is probably because you have the wrong GTA version.
You can easily download the downgrading patch in the link below;
http://forum.sa-mp.com/index.php?topic=63764.0

When I try do join a server, my GTA crashes!
This error comes because of a conflict with some values or files.
To avoid this, I recomend you not to install mods, if you have, you should remove them.

When I play, my game suddenly crashes
This goes allmoast the same as above. I again suggest you to remove your car/vehincle or other mods.
IF YOUR USING VISTA: The game has experienced some trouble at Windows Vista as far as I have heard.
What you should do, is run the gta_sa.exe (C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas) file in Windows 98 Compatibility mode.
Another possible "fixer" is moving your GTA San Andreas folder to another area. Like out of the Rockstar Games folder.

Running it in Win 98 Compatibility mode helped me with most of my problems. (I use Windows 7)
Another good trick to solve some of the problems above, is to update your Video Driver.

I hope some of this might helped you.
I know there might be alot of spelling misstake, or bad writing/explinations here. Thats because of my lack english skills, so please forgive me for that!

Hugs and kisses(for the girls)

I suggest you just have to try run it in win 98 mod.  That fixed alot of my trouble.
And i remember way back, that its important not to ALT+TAB or pause while entering a 24/7 or ammu, my game crashed than.

Another thing that helped for me, was reistalling SA:MP, but i dont know if that was luck or not, because i guess its the gta_sa.exe thats fucked up, not the samp :p

Well, good luck :)

You might want to add that NVIDIAs latest  190-Driver-Series while using the x64 Version of Windows Vista causes that neither GTA SA nor SAMP will load up.

Lol this is from 5 years, i have the same problem i was playing on samp and it exit from the game and type crash.
And i have:
Windows 7
Overdose Effect mod
4 GB ram
1 GB drive (i don't know it's model i'll check it when i sit on PC)
I got GTA SA from my friend PlaYa by flash memory and i installed it on another disc than C i put it on desc named D.
If i removed Overdose Effect and do in GTA SA:
Right Click>Properties>Compatible >Windows 98 (Windows Me)
It will fix the problem?
