Bangdido's anti-lag guide
« on: October 14, 2009, 08:36:15 PM »
Frequent lag causes:

  • More then one computer connected to your same internet (for example if your bro is watching porn and your sister is downloading music from their computers but you share the same connection).
  • Hard drive fragmentation, make sure you always keep your hard drives properly defragmented, especially the one with the game on, I hope u have game installed in system drive program files [...]; so use the windows tool defrag.
  • Old computers, if your computer is not very powerful, or doesn't have a nice graphic card; go to graphic properties inside game and set it of to minimum, set detail to low or very low (I don't remember), and size to minimum 600 whatever, and of course in 16 bit. I suggest you set your desktop properties to 16 bits too.
  • Bots, in some webpages there are cookies and spybots that save in your comp that keep using your line all the time even when your internet browser is closed. To fix that issue i recommend:

NOTE: Don't change any settings on these two programs if you don't know how to use them well because you can fuck with your system, so just update, scan and or eliminate.

  • You can fix some lag with /fpslimit (fpsnumber). [this is a command in game]
But this I dont know how it works, so please if someone knows how to manage well the different fps, please post here and I'll update this first post.

If I'm forgetting any other lag problems and solutions (besides the distance you live from the server) please feel free to shout it out here.

If somebody actually would correct all the grammar mistakes and stuff, make it more official, then it might even be helpful. :)

U can fix some lag with /fpslimit (fpsnumber).[command in game]
But this i dont know how it works, so plz if some1 know how does it fps thing work post it here.  :P

Go into your advanced options menu and turn on the frame limiter. Then type ingame ''/fpslimit 47'' for example. Now the maximum fpx you can get it 47. You cant strafe with the deagle if you have more fps then 47 (or 49?).
well dominator is still the fucked up forum whore he always was, i am glad that i never see u somewhere ingame.

Why havent you done it, Alvar? You prefer to demotivate by criticizing people instead of helping them?
I am a little disappointed at you.

Thats why he can help. I just used to close all programs which might use the internet connection.

I am a little disappointed at you.

Was not my intention to insult somebody, but sorry anyways.

It's me, sometimes what I say comes out really bad, the point I was trying to make changes as I almost always type without mistakes but building up the sentences is still hard for me, sincerely sorry.
