My thoughts about todays littlewhiteys

When i came back here in February, i enjoyed it from the first moment, meeting old and new people (again). I saw littlewhiteys as my grove street, my place, my home on sa-mp. Nowdays its changed. I dont know if its just me, or if LW is actually going down hill. Its just, when i come ingame, or when i visit the forums, there are just so many idiots who disturb yourself having a good time (no i dont fap ingame or on the forums). Example: some days ago, i joined the server since a long time, with the idea in my head to go plane surfing with some random, cool guy. At first, i couldnt find anyone after some asking in the chat, so i took a kickass lowrider, and went to Los Santos to tune it. I came back, fully tuned lowrider with Playback FM on the background (o jees this is sounding like a story!). I came back, and met some Finnish guy, and in the meanwhile i met some guy who also had a tuned car. We went to the airport to get the bigass plane, and that also-tuned-car-guy shot us but we flew away just in time (that was example 1, some lul fukin us up). We crashed (was awesome though) and we came back to go again. Then there was Meth, shooting us. I dont know if i said ''stop'' or ''don't'' before  i said ''fuck off'', sorry for that, but that started a huge flame war between me and him. Maybe i started it, i dont know, but that was just an example. I wanted to do something fun in a fun server, but someone messed it up. And then, there was this response, that annoys me SO MUTCH nowdays: ''its a dm server''

Maybe its based on DM, but why are there Freeroam/Race/gangs in the name? Yeah, because DM is not the only thing to do in this freaking server, thats why people join it, if DM was the only thing, they would leave. I think i still will get the response: its a dm server. But yeah, now you got my thoughts about that response.

And also about the server (script) itself: what about doing something with it? There are TONS of suggestions, and so many good ideas, but noone does something with it. The race-thing zamaroth made was awesome, but its gone. Do something with it, also with the dev. site, i made like 5 ''threads'' on 1 day, like a long time ago, and i got only one response..delete that dev site if you dont do anything with it. Dont let littlewhiteys get boring, do something, get new scripters or whatsoever, but do something with all those ideas, and implent new things.

Its just, there is more flaming, not only because of me, but also just in the forums, and ingame. I dont cry because i get killed ingame (lol fuck that) but because people are taking away my fun. Whats so hard about just relaxing? Maybe im in the wrong server for my kind of playing, but i had so mutch fun here, i dont want to leave. And to everyone i flamed or whatever: sorry, i hope we are cool. (yeah s3rs and hazzard, u too)

I totally agree. People have difficulties to respect eachother. I admit I also get pissed sometimes, and maybe I piss off others. I don't do this on purpose, I always try to stay calm and respectfull, I don't call names (well yeah I use noob sometimes), but it's so lame to call others gay or start about their mothers that you don't even know. I can get along with most regular players I think, it's cool that way. Even when you get shot by them it's no reason to start flipping, cause it's only a game. I enjoy playing on this server, I only hope people get some more respect for eachother and that we get more active players that defend that value.

And it's true, it's annoying when you ask someone not to shoot, and they ignore that. I understand sometimes they didn't read what you might have said, but if they did, it's nice that they respect you and don't shoot at you. A few weeks ago I was going to race (which I do rarely). A guy with a tank was at the racestart, so I told him in a PM not to shoot at the racestart. He said ok, no problem. The moment the race started he blew up my car, and my fun was gone. I reported to admin, but he said he can't do anything about it unless he sees it. Just so pity.

as far as the script goes im trying to get slice to get somethign done with it. i mean there is so much that could still be done to lw to make it better.

In the nearly 20 months I've played LW I've never known the regular players to be as pathetic as they are now. So much petty flaming and winging goes on daily I've never seen it this bad. People care so much about dying and everyone just groups up and hangs around ammu, most of you/the clans won't even fight each other. The potential for huge fun gang wars is always there but instead you all stand around and have a tea party.

Although I don't think there's anything wrong with the script or gamemode, before 0.3 we had 70-120 players daily. Now that were off the official list LW's looks just like any other random server in the Hosted/internet list.

The server has always been like this, since the beginning i started to play here. Sometimes it's just really hard to ignore flame, i have to agree with that. And yes, it's still a 18+ game, a little bit of flaming does not matter, you'll see that in every multilayer game with chat. Anyways, 0.3a brings a lot of new features, I've been looking on the SA-MP forums a bit just now, and there are enough cool things to attract players.

Don't forget that definitions of 'fun' differ, while you enjoy planesurfing someone else enjoys killing others.
So maybe you're 'ruining' their fun because you're not participating in the killing-scene while they ruin yours because they don't planesurf along.

I agree with some of the stuff said above, but Littlewhiteys is beginning to change negatively. I've watched another gta:mp community (VCMP) fall completely from hundreds of players a day to barely 100 due to one thing lacking and being tossed away like its nothing: Respect among the players..

Well guess what? It's happening here too. Slowly but surely, respect is rapidly disappearing, and arguments as well as flamewars are beginning to swallow the community as a whole. It makes the game completely boring to sit there and argue half the time you're in the server, or know every single time you're on the new samp 0.3a screen, waiting for the mod to load, you think that you won't be able to see peace among the players in your upcoming playing session at LWs.

Perhaps its just me, but I think the main problem is the way players treat eachother, and the way they forget completely that it's just a game.

Also, it is multiplayer for a reason, we come to play the game with each other, it's alot better than sitting around in singleplayer mode and crouchstabbing a bunch of robotically controlled hookers and randoms on grove street.

I'm even guilty of it, there are some people who can make me throw my principles away and just make me want to e-choke them because they piss me off so badly, but I do my best to contain myself.

I can't stand knowing when you're driving up to ammunation in LV, and knowing that as soon as you get out of your car and walk through that door to buy armor, you'll have some player desparate for kills try to shoot you in the back while your character walks through the door into ammunation, and 75% of the time they are successdful, and if you stay and try to fight them, 8 more of them come in and circle around you like retards while 5 more of his friends spray you with tec bullets. That's another form of disrespect in my opinion.. when all you wanted to do was go to the damn store and buy some armor.

And why don't they hang out somewhere else for their big gangups? because ammu is the only place they can get an easy cheap kill. People also care waaay too much about stats, its a cool thing to have, but for some players, its just a turnoff to always be judged for your stats when you can die over a large amount of reasons for dying.

And on the one rare chance you actually get some peace and/or a good fair fight going on, you see your camera jerk around and suddenly you're under some guy's infernus, watching your health meter go down helplessly.

As for the scripts, I think they're great the way they are, but perhaps maybe there could be a /stats off option for people who don't prefer stats.

I don't care how people see this, if you see it as me whining go ahead, but I'm speaking my true opinion, the community is losing the one thing which binds it together, respect.

I'm glad to see others think the same about the server. I will talk with my clanmembers to make sure it stays fun in LW, it's up to us regulars to make the change, and make the good example for others.

Also I would like to make one note. I see often that people complain that they get attacked by multiple gangmembers. In one way I can understand it could be annoying, but on the other hand, what's the use of clans if you fight alone?

I agree we should have more massive clanwars, so that you have a fight of 5 vs 5 or something, it's never gonna be totally honest cause there isn't always an equal amount of players to fight against. But what can you do about it? The funny thing is that often people complain that don't fight you alone themselve so the argument gets useless that way.

But anyway you guys have my support. As soon as I have some money to spend I will make a donation cause I don't want to see LW die.

Again.. It really isn't that hard to get safely into the South Ammunation which is also in LV.
Depends on your own decision if you're willing to take the risk and die or not.

You don't HAVE to look at your stats, if you don't care about them then why care about others judging you from it?
They'll find it out eventually if those stats apply to your shooting/survivingskills or not, though some won't admit.

Why do people call each other meatballs its not nice!

Long story short on this thread. People join the server and play the way they want to. Dont like have 10 people at North ammunation? Well to bad, it happens but guess what there are a number of safe ammunations dotted around SA.

Flaming players for killing you: This makes you out to look like a weak minded child, want to get a nice car and drive around without being shot? Then goto a remote place where people are unlikely to go. I have had people bitching at me for killing them and blowing up their car on the strip..... then they flame..... whos in the wrong here?

Stats: In the end its a game, by only worrying about your stats it can take all the fun out of the game, so just chill and play. Die 10 times in a row? Oh well. How do you think admins would feel if we cared about stats? Sometimes we just blow each other up on slow days totaling our stats but its all fun.

Back shooters / door shooting: Is a major pain, but hell its even more fun to return and park on these players or grab a heli and go nuts!

Freeroam - You are not restricted to one city, and there is no massive objective so you are free to walk/run/drive/sail/fly around SA with or without other people to explore and have fun

Race - Just another way to make money... and ram dugi off the road

Gangs - Gangs are part of DM really, people would always group up to kill and its a nice earner

BLEH is right - people have the right to play how they want to. Kill who and how they want, wheather in a gang or in alone.

I would say having some clan wars would be fun, instead of everyone hanging around at ammunation kiling randoms. Kill each other

I'm happy to see some very mature responses in this thread. It means that at least a few people have some respect and decency for the server. The thing that bothers me most is that people don't care for the server anymore. I mean this in the way that they take it for granted. We have to thank littlewhitey and Popz for keeping this great server up. Ofcourse it's easy for us to complain and say that things need to be done, but it's them who have to actually DO it. Seeing that this is still a game, and not their job or profession, makes it clear and obvious that certain things take time.

Personally, I like the gamemode right now, but some additions will be cool. The biggest punch we had is the change from 0.2x to 0.3. Random noobs don't join the server anymore (same goes for LVP etc..) Also there are still alot of servers on 0.2x.
I can imagine that some random noob, who downloaded 0.2x a few weeks/months ago, still plays on 0.2x servers because they don't realise some servers have disappeared, or don't work anymore. They don't have a clue that 0.3 came out, so they don't feel they need to update. Maybe they just think those other servers are down or something.
The lower playercount makes regulars stay out, or make them go to more crowded servers, I think. Because it could get boring with only 10 players on, and no randoms. At least that's the thing I loved about 0.2x LW. You could go in any time of the day, find some guy named 'asdfadsd' and just chase him down the strip or something. It just barely happens anymore..
Maybe we can attract new players by adding more properties, new races, more gang features, jobs, minigames, w/e. It's something that needs discussion, and thought.

What we could do is the following:
We could create a board of suggestors. Selected people with good creativity, scripters, admins, management, sa-mp old-cats, new people. They could discuss in a seperate forum new suggestions, how they see certain things, and then those suggestions could be implemented or suggested in the main forum. It could be like a meeting with some people who cover basicly any layer in the LW community.
I also agree with taxiDominator, on the development site. It doesn't come in handy, because it adds another website for the scripters too look at, and to me it isn't obvious that it is visited regularly. Whenever I subscribe to a new forum, I always forget to check it, unless you make a habit out of it.
So I suggest: bring back the suggestions board in this forum, and make this the ONLY suggestion board.

I hope LW's can find it's way back to the top. (or maybe they bring back the official list)
