There are even some admins who I used to see very often and that I haven't seen for some days, like S3rs, Nelly or DoodWithRedHat. Today, there's even a player who has told me that is about to leave LW, and also many people have told me that some time ago, there used to be more than 100 players whereas now we are lucky if we have 30...
We cannot let this happen, LW has been one of the most important servers in SAMP, and when I played in some other servers and mentioned LW for any reason, many people knew it, so we should do some things to bring it back to life. I have some ideas that should be scriptable:
1-Team races: I told this idea some weeks ago to one or two admins and they seemed to like it. This idea is based on
this thread and the complaints of some racers about Rustlers shooting them. Well, my idea is that there were some races with two teams (for example, blue and red, or black and white), and each team has some cars and some Rustlers. The planes of each team must destroy the cars of the opposite team, and the team which gets one of its cars in first position wins. This could lead to different strategies, like for example use the Rustlers to shoot down the planes of the other team while letting the cars running on their own (which would led to a classic dodfight and a classic race). Also the strategic part of this competition would be reflected in the number of members of the teams: with more members, more chances to win, but also the price would be splitted between more people and less money for each one. It would be even possible to have a team with, on the same number of members, more cars and fewer planes or viceversa: with more cars, more chances to get one of them in first place, but with more planes, more possibilities to destroy the cars of the other team.
You could also include some new stats, like number of times in the winning team and number of races you have actually won.
With this racing mode, Rustlers shooting would not be an annoyance, but a part of the game itself!!
Also, to avoid all cars from being destroyed in the first minute of the race, the races could be (at least the first part of them) in some difficult to fly in places, like downtown SF and LS (with many buildings).
2-Autohosted races: I think one of the reasons why there are few races, apart from Rustlers ruining them, is that they are too expensive to host. I think the system could host some of them automatically from time to time, and this would also be an opportunity for people to earn some extra money. If you the admins don't want the system to give much money to the players, you can reduce the prices.
3-Red Bull Air Race: there could be some races involving planes, in which they would have to fly through some checkpoints. I think that in San Andreas' history mode there's a mission in the flying school in which you have to do that.
I think Rustlers should not be allowed to participate in these races because no one would want to be in first position with his rivals shooting him from behind, but like in the current car races, players outside the race could use Rustlers to shoot the racers.
There could be different tracks: some with tight and sharp corners (for example, between the buildings), in which the best planes would be Dodo and Stuntplane, and others with more straight parts in which Shamal's high top-end speed would give you the advantage.
4-Boat races: the same, but with boats instead of cars, bikes or planes.
5-Vehicle deathmatching: with prices to the winners, similar to races, but destruction derbys with cars, helis or planes.
6-A limited use of Hydras and Hunters: these vehicles are forbidden because they are too powerful and any noob could abuse of them, something that I perfectly understand, but I think you could implement a system by which you could only use them to shoot other planes (for example, in the vehicle deathmatches of the point 5), whereas if you use them against cars or pedestrians you die, get jailed, unable to use these vehicles again for the next 10 minutes or even autokicked if you repeat two or three times.
You could also apply these rules to powerful weapons like bazooka, minigun and flamethrower, which are now forbidden for the same reason.
7-Not lose all the money you carry with you when you die: if you have much money in your pocket (for example, to host a race, buy a property or simply because someone has given it to you), it's very stressful that if you die you will lose it all. I think it would be ok if you lost a 25% (and that would be the money that remains when you die and that anyone can take), whereas the remaining 75% would still be in your pocket.
8-Weapons and armor: maybe this has been already suggested, but I found it annoying that when you disconnect, you lose all the weapons you had bought, I think they should be saved like your stats and the money in your bank. If you the admins think that this way people would accumulate too much ammo, you can make it more expensive.
And regarding the armor, I don't think it should be saved but it should be like weapons currently are: you lose them when you disconnect but not when you die, so you keep having them when you respawn.
