Bounties by system
« on: June 14, 2010, 08:35:23 PM »
A summary of the changes that you want Random bounties for 100k to be put by system on a random player, if there is no bounty higher that 40k every 1 hour. If the system have put a bounty on someone, and this players is alive, the bounty increases for 10k every 10 minuts. System bounty disappear after logging off.

The advantages of this change happening
- More fight on the server,
- funny way of making money.

The disadvantages of this change happening
- Money appearing from nowhere (it doesn't move from someone's pocket, there is just an increase of money on the server.
- Might be abused by players ("Let me kill you and I will give you 50%!)
- Stopping people from putting their own bunties (which Im acctually not afraid of, cause most of people put bounties on themselves or on their enemies, not on random people).
Any script snippets which provide the feature that you want

Pole Position!!! ;D

Mmmm, as an idea is not bad, but personally I'm not very convinced, although I haven't voted yet, I will wait to see other opinions...

I like the idea. But maybe it would be even better if the player with the most kills (let's say when he has more then 10 kills) gets an automatic bounty on his head. This way he has to be alert all the time, and people actually try to take him/her down for the money. I see too often that someone has 20+ kills, and no one attacks him/her because they're 'friends'. They have all the freedom to extend their spree. So it could work, new players would team together to hunt this person down, and it's even harder for this person to get a bigger spree.

So in general +1, but please no random bounties. It should make sense when someone gets a bounty.

Bounties are for tracking your enemies down and getting revenge, it's personal. The system doesn't have enemies so adding system bounties makes it less personal. I think by adding this it veers too much away from the original idea, It will also become a lot more difficult to track people if you're poor and the system puts a higher bounty than you'll ever get.

I totally agree with this.
I see people coming up with idea's which would give the system something to do, and take it away from the players, like creating system races.

I see alot of bounties been put on players....
I don't get the point of this making the server any better.
And if someone has a spree then some other people will get in mind to mess up their spree anyway, by trying to kill them or put up a bounty by theirselfs ( And not the system.)
It gives people a small mission to fuck up someone else.
This kind of system to put a bounty when someone has a spree, ruins it.
Stupidity....

just change the system so that from 10 kills plus

kills * 1000 = payout for killing the person.

There should be no 'bounty', just the normal '[name] has 10 kills in a row!' textdraw at the bottom.

Then a message could be added to LWBot so that noobs can catch on to this system

Just like lvp's but its a good idea,

I like this, but it would be better to only auto- bounty regulars, so is more funny, cause they can defend theirselves.

Roach I know what you mean, when I was writing this suggestion I've noticed how many "by system" suggestions have been made lately. The reason is that the server is a bit empty. For sure, it's better when bounties are personal but with a low ammount of players maybe it's not such a bad idea to let the system "replace" some players' functions, I dunno.

But autohosted races is not the same thing as autoput bounties... Actually autohosted races are not only good but necessary.

Well Miczi, one of the reasons why I don't know if to support your suggestion is that if it were randomly put on a new player, everyone would easily make him dust. However, I would support your suggestion with one modification (although I'm afraid it won't be done): some time ago, in another thread I was talking about implementing a second kill ratio that would be temporary and reseted on each login (instead of being saved like the main one), and a handicaping system based on that second and temporary ratio (the reason of resetting it would be exactly to prevent regulars from creating always new accounts to avoid the handicap). Well, so with this in mind, the autobounties, instead of being random, would be put on the players with the highest temporary ratios, so many people would chase those hard players and the game would be more balanced. :)

bounties give players with a lot of money power. If u have to compete with the system 250K bounties, it sucks. I know lot of ppl want bounties for some action, but thats not the point. the point of bounties is for that player to DIE asap. Bounties shouldnt be a pleasure for those who get them, but a burden, annoy them, make them sad, why else would someone else pay millions for bounties.
