Server Attractivity/Quality Discussion

As i saw ppl discussing about that issue spreaded in other topics, and as this is a very important discussion in means of improving the server,
i thought i might post an own topic for it, so we can discuss it out on a stable base and with unaffected empiric accuracy.  ;)

If u'd like to speak ur thoughts about how to change or improve the server for getting more players on, or if u'd like to mention some general considers about DM and RP mixing, or if u wish ppl to be more respecting and fair, if u would like to discuss philosophical backgrounds of statswhoredom and dblamership, or u even want to discuss on psychologic affects of gameplay features, u came to the right place!

U shouldnt insult and flame in here, like the forum rules already say ofc, and i strongly encourage you to try and use understandable language, because we want to have an good discussion here, this issue is important. Please be open for criticism and other opinions then yours, dont get mad if someone doesnt see things like you do. Try to grapple with the arguments given and consider both sides of the medal before you reply.

Always remember: in this board evrything wants to be discussed, pls dont assume anything as 'wrong' or 'right' right from the start (except its rly bullshit like Teletubbies or unfailable truth like 2+2=Potatoe-salad ;D)

Well when I was a newbie here...



jk.  Anyway, I'm bored so I will try to write something constructive :P The problem of LW's is not simple at all. First thing that kicked us was the lack of official tab. Suddenly, during the night, we lost (I don't remember exactly) 40-60% of the players, who just didn't have LW on the favourites list (there was no need for this, the official tab had less than 10 servers on it). Then LW was found out boring by the regulars - the traffic on the server decreased, newbies stopped joining us (cause it was now of 9999 servers) and it became empty. However, I don't think many of us predicted back then that the playercount will be that low! I remember myself thinking "eh, only 50 players on LW, it's so empy, I won't play it tonight." Now it's like "holy shit, 40 players online!!! I MUST JOIN IT!" or "Hmm, 20 players, not so bad.". Regulars got more and more bored. In the meantime savable banks made it really easy to make money, but there were noone to kill for this money! And the LW alliance - I really have no idea how it could happen, where all the clans hating each other like eVo and JOKER did, or MW and... shit I don't remember the name of the second gang, nvm. And when you start shooting someone he says "hey man, what are you doing? Why are you shooting me?" "Hmm, well, I don't know, maybe because there are 15 people on the server and 10 of them paused." "Okay, but why are u shoooting me? I thought we frinds! WTF!" *[JOKER]Miczi left the server.
There were made trials to fix it, it worked maybe for a week ("The Aggreement"), then only a few kept doing this.
And turfs. I remember when they were implemented but... they were never really useful! I've been capturing them with some polish nabs when I was a total nab too, but I did that cause it was new. After a while gangs were back at NAM waiting for newbies to rape them while entering ammu...
Then atmosphere fucked up too. You couldn't kill a guy, cause he would /q or flame you, your family, gf and dog. Oh, and your english teacher too.

And here is what we recieved - an empty server, with a lot of flamers and rulebreakers, with clans standing at a certaing points and talking about the weather, waiting for newbies to gangbang them. With 70% of the community so rich, that they put 5kk bounties on themselves. Maybe some of you would like to add the problem of raceruining, but for me the only problem with LW races is the low number of participants.

Fixable? Surely is. But it won't be easy. Im looking at what I've written and I'm wondering if I'm sober. But nvm. Word "phylosophical" always works on me like that.

The problem is that almost every clan could be closed because they anyways team with everyone else ...
The people on lws just got that funny attitute if someone kills them to say: " Hey you wannabe my friend?" and not fight them again and may win ...
And i guess the problem why everyone is running is not because of their stats because almost every running player got no good stats...
Its just because they dont want to get blamed with "haha ez " after their death..
the community in lw is just so fucked up that its not fixable i guess...

First i gotta thank u for that introduction Miczi, that will give a lot stuff to discuss and im hopefully more will join in on the topic so we can together find a solution. Im a lil tired atm, already late time here, and i need to think about these things and oversleep it a night.

Anyways keep collecting thoughts and post them here @ all of u, would be good to have evrything considered :)

Preservation issues are:

1) Too many camps did not how to fight with one who has 399 ping  ???
2) Too many nubs statskiler that kill only the ratio  :-\
3) Is not entertainment that was once here on lw [racing event, the fight for money] now all have money and spend an hour break in play that put 8-9 hours after leaving the game on pause for not making ... But if it was not much money, like bank 1 million max we ever ran after a nub three cities to steal 100 k or less, I remember when I came here was much fun ... I went after a player maybe 30 minutes to kill him and take him or that he had money ... brother not now, everyone has money, nobody is interested
 bouties of anything because he has that job. One suggestion might be reducing banks, more racing, maybe a new script in May fun race fast cars less likely to have all beginners and even killstats to kick off automatically after you kill a player 5 times in a row max less than 1 minute.

many reasons.
main problems:
  • the retardness of a huge part of the players: campers (joker, KOD..), rulebreakers (hihater, poge..), haters who try to ruin the server just because they had no nice time on it (hyper, gigo..).
  • anybody who was ANY cool stopped playing because of the retards or rl issues. jenna, lilly, carol, wWii, blwwewrt, slice, driven, puberz, drugz, shadowfire, firefox.. all of them left the server or are reaaaaaally inactive

what is left?
people who act gay and FORCE their victims to act gay too.

example:
6 people from 4 different clans camp NAM. they will feel very satisfied if they killed you in a 6 vs 1. best if you and your car blow up before you were able to even start to fight or if you get stunned permanently by the constant rain of sawnoff shots or if they make up a tactic so that you will not be able to escape. and of course they will shout out something like "ez <add random word here>" or "jajuaaujajuaujauj" if you get killed or if you managed to escape.

this "GF" tradition has changed its meaning COMPLETLY: people used this shortcut to show respect to their enemies. nowadays its attached to any especially lame fight to make the victim mad.

this will result in revenge: some people will start to rulebreak. speak: toggling, /qing, pausing, torrent abuse, F8 abuse, fake enter bug, fraps abuse, flaming.... some others (me included) will start to lamekill the idiots with db, helikill, car bombs, rustlers, backstabing...

best example: gryphus' lw career:
  • he started as some random noob like anybody.
  • he noticed that he fails at fair fighting so he started to db.
    -> hatred causing revenge
  • soon he discovered that nobody paid any attention at him so he started spamming the forums.
    -> hatred causing revenge
  • also he started to ruin the server with pming noobs other server's IPs and also he started to flame because he got very mad about all the hatred he recieved in return for his retardness.
    -> hatred causing revenge
  • he would always write stuff like "hahaha nooooooooooob" or "sorry for your staaaaaaaaaats" if he was finally able to kill one of the guys who he hates so much  because he was so freakin satisfied about finally being able to appear on the left column of the death board.
    -> hatred causing revenge
  • soon he found out that some people are still able to make him go "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" so he sat into a rustler and after only a few decades of training he became a decent rustler fuckface.

all of this turns regulars even more retarded. they will kill you even more lame. they will flame you even harder. they will team up even more. they will run even earlier. its a vicious circle and i am not sure if LW will be able to escape out of it. its not easy to fix up the social issues of humanity.

Many problems occured till now, and i thank u u wrote about it,
now im gonna speak my mind about what i figured out whilst last night. id like to keep that clear from advertisment issues or suggestion, nut im afraid, and i simply know, that this cant be left out fully.

I see the main reason for all this shit to come up is the loss of player count, which leaded to the mentioned things. (thats my opinion tho, and there might be other causes worth to take in account)
Thats y i would suggest we do something about getting players back on LWs.
Some of u, also me, experienced in the past, that normal dm is failing in samp atm, the ppl run to rp more and more.
Thats of course a no-go for LWs, this server should/hopefully will never be rp. But we can take an important part of Rp to improve our server.
Just guess: What is it, that keeps players playin rp? Because it gives a reason to play on. In dm u just kill ppl, mainly having the reason of fun or skill/stats/being the best. in rp u can have the most money, the highest stats on whatever, most knowledge, respect, experience, and so on. Also u have more opportunities. seriously, LWs doesnt need more, it allready has a good set of it, they just need to get refined. At first: Dont make One-ways for earning money. Evrything that gives money should be giving money in a seperate way too, with the two ways interfere with each other and make the other one impossible or fail.

yeah i guess thats normal if u just thought that, im not that good in explaining those things in english  ::)
let me give some examples then:
OK lets say i want make money, how i do that now? ummmm...
1st export cars, as we all know, exporting cars is driving lesson fowshow, one scratch and ull get less money. why not have it like: ONE scratch = no money n00b! Would make the thing more interesting
2nd transport mission, im waiting on the transport stealing script, would make it more interesting too, otherwise ppl earn a golden nose with that
3rd races, nothing to say about, winning a race is hard work, especially nowadays, needs a lot of skill to prevent being flatened by some 'lamekiller' how bike likes to call them, and thats ok i think.
4th propertiessssss MAN this shit gives a rain of cash like a fucking national bank craps on ur head, that shit could fill a bank in about 1hour or less i know i tried that shit.
5th kill ppl, ummm why? theres so much other things to ear money quick.

OK my suggestion would be: make bank nearly unlimited and things FUCKING EXPENSIVE and money HARD AS FUCK to earn!

ermmm ... yes they can. As Miczi said in an other post, things must be easyer for regulars and respect and money has to be earned by noobs, to give them a goal which is worth playing for. Give them a reason to play further. One or to lvls (maybe real implemented or just imaginery lvls) to get fast to give some satisfaction for a start, then more and more requirements to come further, and so on. Being a regular must mean something again! thats mainly y i like the 10minsPlaybeforeRegistering-thing, wich some ppl complained about, it gives nubs the first reason to game on.

The gang problem. Well thats heavy shit. Death matching aint fun if evryone teams up against u. But again that shouldnt be a cause to flame and brake the rulez. Get by it by just going somewhere else, take another ammunation or sum, and so on. OR team up against, if nuff players there ofc. I know there arent atm, but we hardly try to change that now  :D Anyways the accepted AGS by Miczi is a good start to get by the teaming problem: http://forum.littlewhiteys.co.uk/index.php/topic,15195.0.html , support it if u feel the hate should be back on the streets  ;D

@BikeDriver hey man thanks for ur words too, but give gryphus a break, some ppl simply are other than normal, and trying to get by in a world which simply wont run like one wish isnt that nice, we all know that. Anyways this is not the right place to point the finger at specific ppl, we want to find a solution for LWs problems together, however the athmosphere be. I want to thank you for ur attention at the problems that wasnt mentioned before but are going into our problem, keep collecting issues and solution, well try to sort it and find the best way for all involved.

you can extend this ad nauseam...
its a giant vicious circle with many factors.

U cant say: 'Hey all give love now!' or 'Start hating all others!'
If its so its based on the players, exactly how ur second post shows it: there are too many ppl giving too much damn although its a game.
Giving no damn isnt good either, what players play for if they dont give a damn? but too much /care can be abused by /noncare players and lead to hatred and revenge. We have too much ppl who act like goddamn kids in a primary school: if ones mad they just come and hit up more, because thats an easy way to 'grow their e-dick' like Daniel said (

So getting mad is a part of this process, surely its how u said, the ppl who had kept it funny are gone and now only the mad are left. But we must consider we cant possibly bring the old days back or make it like it was before. We can only make something new, and seize the opportunities the future helds for us to make LWs at least as good as or even better then it was. That means we may need to change the overall attitude regarding those things u mentioned, which is a process that requires a lot of patience and willforce, not gonna be easy. But the hell we aint alone and LWs deserves to be back on his top place of the imaginery best-server-list. Thats what ill fight for, till i have a life or its ended XD

respect to you for this post man, it's exactly what i think and what is happening in LW for a long time, a process that can just get worse if things won't change :/
i always supported all the ideas you included in your post, but i wouldn't have ever been able to write it better

Today I kind of repeated the Scott's Desert Turf Madness event, I mean I've promised a prize for the first gang, that will control all the 3 desert ammu turfs, and it was quite fun. For a moment there were 3 big gangs fighting + some single helikillers/dbers/rustlers (hi Disco :D). Gangs were really taking care about the turfs ;) And JOKER was owning even though the war was really equal ;D

The thing is that the gangs fought each other. They knew that they have to kill as much as possible to take control of the turfs, so they killed every other gang, there was no teaming up. Gangs seriously fought each other. Dunno about the rest, but I had fun xd
