Class selection bug?
« on: July 08, 2012, 10:55:06 AM »
Hello, after Mr.blewert changed some players skin to "Pizzaboy" (just for fun) , I'm having a problem to change my skin back.
Already tried :~

1- /class
2- F4
3- F4 and /kill
4- Reconnect.

ps. I want my old skin back! (modded)
Regards.

If I remember right, F4 and /kill doesn't working. You have to get killed by a player.

The F4 and then /kill is back and works again , as far as I know /class was removed due to some players who were abusing the command.

good choice, it was useful just for statswhores, if you wanna change, just /kill  :)

How could /class command be abused? It used to set your health to only 1 hp so you could be easily killed.

After 10 seconds you can change the skin ... i don't think could be abused.

simply if the runner on low health was far enough from the chaser and kept running while he already typed /class, after 10 seconds he managed to escape, whereas without that cmd he would have died . Or even easier, when they are in a vehicle and type it, it's rly easy to escape.
It often happened to me that some statswhores or runners abused it to escape.
Anyway they did a good thing removing it, let's just be happy about it, a possible abuse solved  ;)

Nubs, this dood is obviously bug'd. If he said; "...F4, /class, /kill, reconnect ...don't work..." then it doesn't. Also if F4 and "...class.. on next death..." is not good for someone than that someone is not a someone for sa:mp.

ps. iDamn, just /re urself if any admon will be online to set your skin. Problem solved, you're welcome.

Yet he has decided to reply normally.

basically it was used like a teleport command. If the person that was low on health was somewhere save, like in a bank, ammu, checkpoint or ahead in a car, they could use the command to practically teleport away from the attackers, as the respawn during reclassing almost works the same way as respawning in general, just with a less important option to change your skin, and without adding a death to your stats.

This command was for statswhores that couldn't bear being killed once too much for their 'perfect' polished stats.

Now i know what one could say - hey, if they don't wan't to be killed let them - not everyone want's to die. Well, this is mainly a death-match game mode with some additions, and if people don't want to die they'd go and play on a trucking server. There have been rules and conventions here ever since: at first don't abuse commands for stats padding, secondly no teleports - teleports suck shit, third: If you can't accept being killed you shouldn't kill either, so shut up and die.

Lastly, i experienced that most of the players that abused this command in the described way were statswhoring regulars. Normal newbies would /q or hide in a bank/ammu/checkpoint or run/drive/fly to avoid death.

Whoever removed it - good job :)
Changing class is not obligatory, if you don't want to die you can stick with the one you are already using ;)
