Yea man :P Im going to get it. Ive convinced my parents its the best choice. The only 2 downsides so far for this laptop. Is that the screen is not anti-glare and that the HDD runs at 5400rpm instead of 7200rpm which makes it slower. But ive already set my mind on getting a new HDD for it when its christmas and that will either be a large SSD or a 1TB 7200rpm laptop hdd.

yea thats a good decision.

if you stumble across an error when you try to install the lenovo nvidia driver then i can help you. because there was an error with mine :P

you are going to format it entirely, right?

i haz the Samsung MZ-7PC256B/WW 256GB SSD. its ok. HD Tune says something like 350MB/s (even though the OS is on the same SSD, resulting in lower speed test results)

I probably will. But will i be able to install a new copy of Windows 7 professional 64-bit again ? I would probably go for a SSD that does 550mb/s read and 500mb/s write. Prices will be much better by that time i am getting it which is at around christmas time.

I am not a kiddo. But usually around Christmas stuff gets cheaper because people will buy crap anyway. And i barely have the funds to spend another 200 euro on an SSD for a new laptop right now. And i still have other things for school to pay like supplies and shit. Also mine comes with Windows 7 Professional 64bit i think.

EDIT:
i was wrong, it comes with Home Premium 64bit

Home Premium is fine for a laptop so I wouldn't fret too much over that. However, depending on what you are doing at school you may be able to get Windows 7 Enterprise for free (legally) through the MSDN Academic Alliance. It may be worth enquiring about that. There is also DreamSpark for anyone with a tertiary email address, but it doesn't include Windows.

I know it does not really matter. And i think i could get it free through school. Ill be doing IT at school so it will be highly likely to get that windows copy and probably other versions as well.

I just bought the laptop today. And i am very happy that i did, its really fast, i like the keyboard layout a lot including the numpad being separate from the rest (not like the older laptops) Love that you can change screen brightness just with a push on 2 buttons (FN key and arrow keys) And i love the back light of the keyboard as well. I tried to use the laptop outside but all i could see was my face. But when would i actually use the laptop outside pretty much never to be fair.

@Simon,
I looked on my list of things to get that i got from school and it did say that i need to get MSDN software or something. So its likely that ill get some stuff for free. Otherwise i got a friend who runs his own IT company that might be able to help out.

@Bikedriver,
Laptop is awesome :P Ill let you know where i got everything installed etc etc in a PM or something lol. Thnx for recommending this one m8.

if you want put a real SSD in it (but that would require the removal of the 2,5 inches 1TB HDD).

the laptop has a sata 3 thingy but the HDD doesnt support it so its wasted. a SSD will fasten your laptop to the maximum (but SSDs cheaper than 200€ are a waste of money imo).

and before you format the HDDs make sure to copy the drivers which are backup'ed there because those are HUGE. graphics driver#1 440MB, #2 200MB, sound 150MB, wlan 150MB, bluetooth 150MB etc...

I don't know how everything is installed yet, ill figure that out tomorrow after that ill back up all the drivers anyway onto a external 2,5 inch drive i have got of like 512gb which holds all the drivers for all my devices. When Christmas time comes ill have some money again and ill buy an SSD worthy of this awesome laptop :D. And ill probably buy a new HDD for this PC i am on right now. I need a new HDD that can hold all my steam games. Roughly 750gb to 1TB is needed most likely more in case of future games.

Though those drivers aren't that big to be fair i can download them all within 5 minutes and they will probably be updated drivers as well.

Here is what I ordered: http://www.x-kom.pl/p/116387-notebook-laptop-15,6-acer-v3-571g-i5-3210m-4gb-500-dvd-rw-7hp64-gt640m.html
Unfortunately I couldn't find specifications of this particular one in english (lol, I always though copying the name to google is enough, well, it is not), but the hardware names are the same so w/e. I haven't paid for it yet, so could you please let me know whether it's worth buying? I can't spend any more money on this, 2600PLN = 634EU.

Get more options to choose from, the way i see it you can get better laptops for that money..

Save up some money get around 700 euro (i think that translates to about 2800 to 2850 PLN) and go from there.

Unless you actually need awesome performance in a portable device then reconsider a powerful laptop. The idea sounds good but they're bloody annoying... main issues are that they are heavy, slow to boot, awkward to whip out and can have bad battery life.. especially if you are after performance.

I have to retract this-- I recently (was reluctant to do so as well) had to buy a new laptop because my old one crapped out. My previous laptop had left a sour taste in my mouth, but my new one is an unbelievable change and it's only middle range (it's an ASUS K55VD).

After buying it I chucked a 128Gb SATAII SSD that I had purchased to try fix my broken laptop and now I have a fast booting work horse that lasts for hours on the battery. The stock standard drive that came in it was quite fast too, it was a 750Gb Seagate Momentus XT (SSD+HDD hybrid).

It has a multi-touch track pad on it so I chucked on Windows 8. The gestures make the experience better. I am just waiting on official Windows 8 drivers to fix some annoying issues (no Bluetooth and some missing system drivers)
