I wrote a temporary fix that fixes /kill, and adds aliases to it (like /die and /suicide) via a filterscript. I also fixed the death-messages in the window, when the killer's id is INVALID_PLAYER_ID (they now show if you nobody kills you).
This is only a temporary fix though, and as mentioned before, this is fully fixed in 2.9.0. We're at the stage where we're testing it before it goes on to the main server, and we're carrying out some private beta testing. We need to iron out some bugs before we put it on littlewhitey's publicly for a beta-test, and I'm sure that'll be fairly soon (in a week or so)!
