I used a modified Windows Movie Maker 6.0 with some custom effect patches.
It's not perfect yet, but i guess i could try using both MM 6.0 and MM 2012 for their advantages, then it might be even better next time.
The main problem i had with MM2012 is that it corrupts my cut clips as soon as there are more then around ten clips from one file, so i wasn't able to edit the whole movie with it, which is pretty inconvenient for the timing work. Yet again 2012 has way more and better effect presets, pan & zoom animations and transitions then the old 6.0, a better title editor and the ability to adjust playback speed at float precision. Whereas the 6.0 has some unique (and modded) effects, which would come in handy aswell sometimes. Also it's generally more stable and a lot faster than 2012.
