The Sennheiser CX250 have always treated me well. But to me nowadays when i want to listen to something which has alot of bass i need to feel the bass you know.

Ive already decided on getting something with sound quality. Not gaming quality / experience. Ive been gaming less and less anyway. But i still listen alot of music, some might say that i am an audiophile of sorts. And also movies play a big role.

And i have also decided that i should pump up the max spending limit to 150 euro.

You say it treated you well but also that you had 10 of them in the last 5 years. I don't get it.

What soundcard do you have?

And how high is the average bitrate of your music?

How loud do you listen to music? Do you ever max the volume out?

Do you want a headphone that is capable to cancle all the background noise so that you won't even notice a zombie apocalypse?

the sound card is build into the motherboard (MSI Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard) supports 7.1 HD audio.
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87G45_GAMING.html#overview
Scroll down for the audio specs.

The bitrate variates alot. But lately i have started to just only use the loss less file formats such as .flac and such. If thats any help.

I never max out my volume it usually hovers between 25 and 50. Sometimes it goes over 50 if the audio is very low from like movies or something.

And yes i would love to cancel out the background noises and not hear the apocalypse comming.

If you're an 'audiophile' (the word has a noob connotation for me) or a person who appreciate good sound quality, I suggest you get good speakers. Headphones are never the way to go to listen to music. At least not for me. When it comes to actively listening to music.

Under given cicumstances (cash limit and specs), the only way to go is some random surround sound gaming headset for 100-150€, as the ones that were linked here before. As I have said, take a look at some customer reviews or comparisons.

You need a separated non-gaming sound card and a non-gaming headphone for really great music quality.

I'd say do as you see fit and when the time comes and your headset breaks apart, consider buying 'audiophile' equipment. From my experience you will play less and less video games but listen to more and more music. As you said, you download less and less MP3s and more and more FLACs. I did exactly the same.

I am currently using a Xonar Essence STX soundcard (150€), Logitech Z2300 2.1 System (150€) and named Beyerdynamic headphone (custom one, 350€). Worth more than the rest of my PC.

I live in a pretty old house, not the standard concrete blocks you see nowadays. So when i play some metal, hardstyle, rock, or pretty much any other type of music. You will hear it 2 floors down. And that would be on roughly volume level 25.

Ill go do some more extensive research on what to get exactly.

Ive got a good PC, roughly 1200 euro. But thats mainly based on performance i need for school purposes.

Intel i7 4770K
G.Skill 16gb RAM 2133Mhz (for VM purposes)
GTX 770 2gb (it had 25% discount so i got it for gaming purposes)
120gb Intel SSD
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard (bought it for the HD audio stuff that was on there. And the possibility of maybe going SLI sometime in the future.)

EDIT:
What do you think about the Razer BlackShark ?

From random customer reviews:
- Very strong bass, a little over the top (you like that?)
- Very tight fit, some people complain about ear pain (you sensitive, boi?)
- Some people complain about bad sound quality (both in- and ouput), you probably won't notice (as you are only used to onboard sound).

But yes it isolates you from the zomby apocalypse and it seems to have decent virtual 7.1.

Well i think ive made a decision.

It either will be the Kraken 7.1

Or the Tritton 720+

Since im used to these Sennheisers it will probably be a major step upwards from what i know bass wise and overall quality.

Now its just down to which would fit me better.

Actually i should order just the Tritton 720+, it has a decoder box that comes with it. People say that if u have a SPDIF use it in combo with the headset the sound will be far better. Also it has a music mode, movie mode and game mode.
It has far more options than the Kraken has.

And if i wanne compare it to the Kraken i simply ask one of my classmates (5 of them have the Kraken 7.1) lol

Anyway thnx for the help guys :)

Respect!
