New rig
« on: June 03, 2014, 07:05:58 PM »
Can you guys give me a hand with setting up a gaming pc? I don't really know much about the latest hardware and I and thought that some of you could advise me a little.
- Budget: 1000 € or so
- air cooling
- I don't like much AMD or ATI, since i had a lot of bad experiencies in the past.
- what I have more doubts about is what processor to pick, i5 or i7?
- I don't need the best GPU, just a decent one which would let me play most of the latest games like "gtaV" or "Watch dogs"

That will need a quite decent graphics card, yes...

Please give us some more details: Do you want to set the PC up by yourself from scratch, or do you have a base rig you want to upgrade?

GTA V too o/

But 1.000 Euromonies should be enough to at least nearly max it out, as it is still based on the old engine.

I'd buy something like this, if I was an Intel fag D:

1 x Samsung 840 EVO 2,5" 120 GB, SSD - € 69,90*
1 x Intel® Core™ i7-4820K, CPU - € 294,-*
1 x MSI X79A-GD45 Plus, Mainboard - € 169,90*
1 x MSI GTX770 Twin Frozr, Graphics Card - € 279,-*
1 x GeIL DIMM 16 GB RAM DDR3-1866 Kit,... - € 132,90*
1 x Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE, DVD-Burner- € 17,79*
1 x Sharkoon MA-M1000, Case - € 34,99*
1 x Scythe Mugen 4 SCMG-4000, CPU-Cooler- € 38,99*
€ 1.037,47*

Pretty nice, actually and really all you need for an entire system.

But be aware that the longer you wait, the better the system you get for 1.000 Euromonies.

Holy shit, forgot the PSU.

1x be quiet! Pure Power BQT L7-630W, PSU - € 69,90*

1 x Samsung 840 EVO 2,5" 120 GB, SSD - € 69,90*
1 x Intel® Core™ i7-4820K, CPU - € 294,-*
1 x MSI X79A-GD45 Plus, Mainboard - € 169,90*
1 x MSI GTX770 Twin Frozr, Graphics Card - € 279,-*
1 x GeIL DIMM 16 GB RAM DDR3-1866 Kit,... - € 132,90*
1 x Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE, DVD-Burner- € 17,79*
1 x Sharkoon MA-M1000, Case - € 34,99*
1 x Scythe Mugen 4 SCMG-4000, CPU-Cooler- € 38,99*
€ 1107,37

Now it's 1.107,37 ;D :P. I am quite sure it should be capable of maxing out GTA V.

If that's too much I could push it down to 1.000 Euromonies if you want (weaker CPU).

120GB harddrive seems a bit sparse. But maybe that's just my opinion, i personally have problems to get by with 4,5TB at hand.

It's an SDD.

I am quite sure he has enough HDDs.

But yes, it's up to him to decide how much space he needs for games and the OS. I personally would have absolutely no problem with 120GB.

Well, for the same price he could have 1 or 2 TBs HDD. I'd say SDD is an extra. SDDs are veeeery fast but expensive, they are a good place to install the OS and programs, also a good tool to record videos (due to its high writing speed).

SSDs are a must-have in a 1.000 Euromonies gaming PC.

Anybody who thinks differently does apparently not know or has never experienced the exact differences between SSDs and HDDs. You would never believe how much time you save throughout an entire year of usage. Time that you can waste playing video games, woohoo!!!! :D

As he already owns a computer, I am 100% sure that he already owns at least 2 TB of HDDs. The only logical conclusion is to use an SSD as the OS drive and old HDDs as data junkyard.

Windows Loader any1?

If you can't life with that buy a fucking 64 Bit professional W7 OEM DVD + License for 25 Euromonies on ebay. That's 100% legal.

i7 CPU for a gaming rig? Get another cpu and spend the money you save on a better GPU.
