Goodbye in-game for now friends
« on: June 28, 2014, 12:38:07 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm afraid I must go on hiatus from playing samp. It appears that my video card is dying. Out of nowhere, my fps began lowering, and I was getting very harsh lag spikes while playing (most notably when turning left/right in a car). I performed a clean install of the game, I updated my video drivers, I rolled back my video drivers, I tried installing performance-increasing mods, I tried system restore to a point that I know worked, and I re-formatted my computer. I'm also having this issue (though less) on other games. The problem seems to get worse when the car/avatar is travelling fast, and forcing the GPU to load quicker. I haven't installed the card in someone else's computer, so I can't say 100% for certain that it's the card. But, I sure as hell can't afford a new one right now. I intend to play GTA V when it comes out, so I'll start saving for a new computer. I got three years out of this AMD $1500 junk heap. Time to move to Intel.

I'll still be active on the forums, since I don't have any games to play anymore.

Hey Enzo, yea I'm from USA man but I appreciate the offer very much. I could buy another shitty graphics card, but I've had my eye on new Intel components for a while now. If I bought another card, it'd just take away from my budget for the new PC. Haha BikeDriver, I'm not rich. I do manage a small company and I make a good living. But I also bought a house man so the mortgage sucks up my play money pretty quick. Don't worry, I won't be gone too long. Just need to save up for a few months and buy the new PC. I run AMD/ATI right now and I'd like to switch to Intel. Just wouldn't feel right popping a brand new Nvidia card in my shitty Asus AMD board. I suppose I could though. I could buy the new cards now and use them in my shit PC until I can afford the rest I suppose. But I want to run SLI, will that even work on an AMD board? I doubt it.. :/

PCI express 3.0 is downward compatible to PCI express 2.0, so yes you can buy your card now.

But I want to run SLI, will that even work on an AMD board? I doubt it.. :/

1. Don't do SLI. Buying a single graphics card for the same monies will ALWAYS bring better results.
2. Depends on your board whether it works well. Does it offer two PCI express 16x slots that can both run 16x at the same time? If yes then SLI is fully supported, yet still bullshit.

Do you have an AGP slot in your current system?
