Yes, I remember when Germany played against Algeria in the round of 16 during the 2014 world cup. They were very close to win that match, much more than Argentina and France in my opinion.

I guess there isn't an infallible multi-purpose tactic neither team that can work against everything, which is good.

I am just going to throw this in here: I feel like I am watching the international amateur football cup not the world cup of football. So far only a couple or three matches have been fun to watch. The rest is boring as fuck!!!

The last match between Argentina and Croatia was pretty damn rough and the small conflicts made it even more intense to watch, but either way that was embarrasing for such a skilled and powerful national team.
That was an epic win for Croatia though, good game.
