[REJECTED]Remove gambling?
« on: August 11, 2009, 08:16:13 PM »
What do players think about gambling? should it stay? should it be removed?

On one side without gambling
-No more unbalanced cash.
-No more casino gamblers banned wrongfully for cash hacks.
-More people running around participating in the Deathmatch zone.
-Would make server-controlled money system possible. This means, that there won't be any more cash cheaters around, EVER.

With
-Easier to get cash.
-One less place to be a tard and idle to get away from someone about to kill you.

Of course as most of you probably noticed, there's more and more ways to get cash now and there's many more to come.
Please vote and give arguments for or against removing the current casino system.

I voted no, I like to chill and gamble once in a while myself. Just make people pay to gamble 1st, like a gambling license.

Voted yes, mainly because it breaks the servers' economy, and it would also make a server-sided controlled money system possible, and would remove cash cheaters once for all.

I voted for removal. Cash balance gets screwed up quickly with good gamblers. And I'm not a gambler myself...

Remove. Pretty annoying when you work your ass off with properties and then suddenly some random nab win a few millions and comes and buys out all your props. Make making cash even harder and it will be much better.  :D
Easy isn't always simple.

I said yes, but I often find myself gambling when I'm bored... So instead of removing it completely, maybe set a max bet limit? Or as someone else suggested, buy a gambling license.

Voted No - Gambling is fun and if your good at it a nice way to make some "easy" cash and fun.

If a "gambling licence" was introduced, an idea might be a way for mods/admins to tell if a person has brought that licence (if a player without such a permit is gamblign and winning = hax).

Voted yes because, if some random nub wins a couple million they just got that cash without the fun of it...just luck then pretty soon they will have a full bank account and get bored then just leave. Mainly because they don't have a good deathmatch experience of what the gamemode is REALLY about.

For this reasons i voted YES

But on other hand, gambling is a part of the game  :-[, I like gambling, despite the fact I always loose  ;D
I hope a limit could be established for gambling, like 100k...

When I first read the OP, I was pretty vehemently on the "WTF? NO!" side of things...

However now that I've thought about it some, I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea... but I do think that other ways of earning money need to be added before it is removed.

Sometime today or tomorrow I'll try to go into the server under a fake name to see how hard it is to get a start as a noob without gambling. Until then, I'm abstaining from the poll.

-Would make server-controlled money system possible. This means, that there won't be any more cash cheaters around, EVER.

This isn't true, as there's still lag and pausing. Certainly there would be less of them, but to say that there will be none at all is a bit far-fetched.
