[STATS] Another solution for stats
« on: October 24, 2010, 12:24:14 PM »
We can keep the current stats, but from now on they count only in events and duels.
Also, some time ago I made a suggestion for Ammu wars and it was rejected, but seriously you should consider it. In case of implementing those Ammu wars, they would count to the stats too, so we would have 3 things to make stats, while they wouldn't count the rest of the time in the normal game.

I edit this thread to post another NEW OPTION: Instead of the previous one, we can keep the current stats system but add a new feature that would complement it: a scoring system, by which when you kill someone, you get a certain ammount of points that depends on the kill ratio of your victim. An example may be multiplying the kill ratio by 100, so if you kill someone with a ratio of 5 you get 500 points, or if you kill someone with a ratio of 0,8 you get 80 points.
Your final score would be the average points earned with each kill, so if for example you kill 3 players, one with a kr of 2, another with a kr of 0,7 and another with a kr of 4,5 your final score would be:

    (2 + 0,7 + 4,5) * 100 / 3 = 7,2 * 100 / 3 = 240 points

This way, if you care about your stats you will try to kill players with high ratios and not newbies with low ones, because killing newbies would make your average score go down. Besides, if you kill many newbies and get a high kill ratio, other stats caring players will start chasing you to get a lot of points for themselves.
If you kill someone with 0 deaths and/or 0 kills, as he has no ratio, that kill just doesn't count to this scoring system (but it still counts to the normal stats like now).
Also as an option, you can make it so you lose a part of your points for each death, for example in the previous formula you can divide the total points by the sum of your total kills and deaths. So if in the previous example, apart from killing 3 players you have died once, then your score would be this:

    7,2 * 100 / 4 = 180 points

And if you have died twice, then it would be:

    7,2 * 100 / 5 = 144 points
.

you're a fucking genius!!! i wanted to post this too lol

guys, we must remove the general stats, this will probably make people playing no longer as stupid runners to preserve a good ratio, and they wouldn't run every fucking time as it always happens, even with "old" players, who run as they are in danger (-.-)

we could keep just the stats for duels or events, but not for usual kills/deaths, fuck them

A big no to this!
With that we will lose a big amount of new players and regulars will have an other reason to leave this server. Gryphus, I like that you take a lot of time to think how to improve the server but seriously, you only make suggestions what give you advantages or you just give suggestions who no one want to have.

The actual system is a very good one! I don´t see any server with this. You can make killing spree. This killing spree will be saved at the yeartable (/topspree). Killing at ammu and make there the fights is not a good idea. What do you think newbies will do? They never go to ammu to make suicid. Go to Ammu for killing spree --> 100% suicid.

Please Gryphus stop with your suggestions about stats/db and other stuff. Make suggestions how the lw can be more popular or how they can get more players.

For your poll: Pathteic pints. I miss the: "Stay as it is" Point.

I rather see all stats removed but that will never happen and I understand people care about it, but I think this could actually work. If people care about their stats they have to fight for it, and not just killing newbies, but by killing regulars who know the game. I'm not sure if your way of calculating points is the right way, but it sounds more reasonable then the current situation. The way of calculating the ratio now is fair, but the ratio itself only represents how many kills/deaths you made, which makes people play lame because they don't want a low ratio (it doesn't mean you're good with high ratio). So I think this system would be better then the current one, I suggest that the kill/deaths ratio stays, just for the heck of it, but things sure have to change in order to change mentality. I think regulars shouldn't complain about changes, if you play good you obtain nice stats (high points and nice kill/death ratio) and if you suck people will know that you only kill newbies. Your kill/death ratio might look nice but when your overall points are low it means you are a lame player. And to those who think people will leave the server if this new system gets implemented, you're probably afraid your new stats gonna be bad, or else there is nothing to fear.

By the way this doesn't give a special advantage to anyone, it could be usefull for new players but that only helps the playercount up in my opinion.

@Benny

Relax dude, either come with better suggestions or just don't reply because there isn't coming anything usefull out of your keyboard. At least Gryphus thinks about things, even though some things he suggests might not work but you can reply with good arguments or just look like an idiot with a big mouth.

The current system is fine.

we could at least try for a week to remove general stats and see what happens. i think most of players would stop running to avoid death or playing like a statswhore. besides i don't think regulars will leave the server just for this, or they would be rly tards lol: who plays on LW regularly won't leave the server for a simple thing like stats removed (which would improve the gameplay imho), since they don't leave after these hard times with server full of noobs and lamers...

since this statswhore got his stats resetted (like 6+ month ago) because of his whoring i havent seen one single player who seriously cared about his stats.

i think the players who only hunt noobs are mentally retarded and dont want to lose - but statswhores? i dont think so.. the server is way too dead to make statswhoring any fun.

same with my 81.300.000 monies that dugi removed some time ago.. i rly dont care because the server is almost dead anyway. nobody who deserves any of my monies is still playing so im really ok with seeing them removed.

crying for attention to ur other stupidious threads.
gtfo you idiot
why the fuck do you worry about stats
gtfo already

just whats wrong with you? is that the way to deal with players who try to help the server? you are so pathetic benny. you are a failure in all possible ways!

but i still agree that this suggestion sucks. i think the players who rape noobs dont care about stats. they only care about making other players cry. removing or chaning the stats system wont stop the noob-raping. it may make the server even more empty and it wont help against players raping newbs.

Why bump this? I'm pretty I've already accepted a suggestion (yours actually) regarding stats, wait until the system is implemented and tweaked before creating new topics for it.

Also, read the rules for this suggestions forum (one suggestion per topic) and the general rules for the forum (read point 1)
