Solving the problem kthxbai
« on: November 03, 2009, 04:25:41 PM »
Oh hai!

Some day i went to the shopz and bought GTA IV. Yay! I mean, it was. Appaerantly, i have 1 gb of RAM and nvidia GeForce 7300 GT. Firstly it didnt run. Then i upgraded my XP to SP3. It worked then. Had some graphics problems(map missing, textures missing, huge lag) but i fixed it with command lines, cacheboost and newest nvidia graphics drivers. then i could play it normally but it still had huge lag. So i gave up until i buy some more RAM memory. Then i checked some forums(sa-mp) and decided to go to play. I opened sa-mp, picked LWs(ooh yea) and clicked on connect. Waited. Waited. Waited even more. Clicked one more time. And more. And more. And waited. And decided to go insane. Clicked more. Nothing. Strange eh? Nothing happened. Went to try halo too. It wont start too. I thouught WTF?!
Anyone knows what happened? I think it has to do something with SP3 or Latest Graphic Drivers.
You think so too? If so, tell me how to fix :x
I am waiting.

Im amazed gta:iv will run on a 7300GT - i had to upgrade my 7300LE to run the game.

Could try system restore to when your computer was working, or research the problem online (Google is ur friend)

Lol, you made a terrible mistake, bring GTA IV back already.

Now, 2 things:
1. Your pc is probably to outdated for GTA IV, could you post your PC specs? 1 GB and 7300GT are under the minimum requirements, so you cant run the game at all. I think your processor is a Pentium 4 or something, according to your GPU and memory. You have to buy a new video card (''GPU'') and some new memory (''RAM''), and probably also a new processor. And now, i advise you, dont buy the parts that you need to just run GTA IV, buy a complete new computer. Not from the store, but buy the parts by yourself (i or somebody else on the forum could help) and let someone make a computer out of it.

2. Maybe you melted your video cart by running GTA IV. GTA IV is way to heavy for your card, and that could overheat it easily (if you dont have a good cooler). Im not sure about this though, but i think thats the reason why you cant start any game.
well dominator is still the fucked up forum whore he always was, i am glad that i never see u somewhere ingame.

Delete gta_sa.set from My Doccuments/GTA SA User Files, that file often gets corrupted after installing new video drivers.

Dugi pwnz, dominator failz. Thanks Dugi it works!
And champ, gta IV works perfectly except lag. About the graphic card melting, i have special edition of 7300, and a very good cooler. to be actual, i have double cooler 8)
only thing to solve lag IS buying more RAM. i have dual core processor and 2.6 ghz (or how is it spellt)

GTA:IV sucks. Kthxbai.

big disagree, IVs storyline is a lot deeper and better then SAs. also the IV singleplayer is worth re-playing, SAs isnt really.

for all-time-fun  SA > IV tho

I dont fail, i was just trying to help. No problem anyway.......

O, and guess what. Your ram and CPU are good enough, your video card is causing the lag.

GTA:IV sucks. Kthxbai.

Lol, the IV storyline was quite intresting, but the missions were boring and way to easy for a GTA game.

Im curious about your gfx card now - what "special editon 7300GT"?

I think you need more RAM, new gfx card and quad core to stop the lag issues on gta:iv.
or turn everythign down to minimum on the graphics screen of gta:iv - that helps :D

GTA:IV story line was as good as vice citys story line (both which are better than sa's story line imo) but the gta@iv multiplayer, the hardware needed to run it decently, the new pyshics, and the missions did suck a bit.
