Rofl!
Who gives a shit about Top 40, seriously? So every dull and mainstreamfriendly song that ends up there (because of being overplayed on the radio and music television, the latter almost became a myth anyways, I know) is good automatically?

Also, see where HipHop was like 20 years ago. Rather underground aka not mainstreamcompliant. Being as unpopular as it was back then, there even was a special program on MTV to feature this music (YO! MTV Raps) so it wasn't really played on other occasions. Nowadays all the kids go crazy for P-Diddy and Lil John and whatever their names are (despite a lot of these artists have no skills whatsoever in my humble opinion and their lyrics lack sense but are filled with swearings and insults towards other rappers which I would consider poor cross promotion in order to sell even more records on both sides).

Drum n Bass music exists for like 20 years now (including early Jungle productions) and it's fanbase is growing stronger and stronger I think. Just look at the amount of dnb videos you can find on youtube and their viewcounts (I had a hard time finding some dnb there at all 3 years ago) or dnb parties being held (gladly there's like 3-4 parties a week at least in my town). You can hear much more dnb productions being used in tv commercials, video games, documentations and so on than 10 years ago (becoming somewhat mainstreamfriendlier). I say, lets wait another 10-20 years and let's see where HipHop and Drum n Bass are standing then. ;)

Until then I suggest both of us GTFO with our music fascism. Each to their own I guess. :-*

[...] and there is always mroe people in a heavy metal concert then in a r&b/hiphop 8)
Heh, and another one. I hereby invite you to spend a night in Berlin's nightlife (clubs, bars and discos) with me.
We will find a lot, really a lot of r&b/hiphop/ragga parties (usually with the biggest amount of beautiful girls compared to other popular discomusicgenres, for example techno).
We will have a very, really very hard time finding a club or disco playing any metal at all.
I think that's just the nature of these 2 genres. R&B etc being more of a clubgenre while metal mostly is being played live on stage (aka concerts).
And to ruin your theory with only a single small example: I doubt a Slipknot concert (metal) would ever draw more people than lets say, a Beyonce concert (R&B). ;)

Last but not least, as much as I love dnb, I am not sure if this specific musicgenre needs its own thread. This and every other genre has been posted in the music and music videos thread so far without any problems.

PS: I'm still waiting for answers in your dnb mixset thread Friskyy. ;)

This topic is about DnB, not R&B :D

Let me give you some examples:

This, Is DnB,
Enter Shikari - Juggernauts (Nero Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iG_UCgCxPE

More towards Liquid, but it still fits here IMO
Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyes (Jakwob Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ3UJKxeFco

Some sick Dubstep right here..
Black Sun Empire - Hyper Sun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peitfPEz-O4

Now, lets stay on topic!
