Training arena, with bots

As death matching on foot is difficult to new players (because it's not just aiming and shooting, but it requires some technique), I think it would be good if there was a training arena, similar to the duel arena (so there would be no external interference by other players), with bots you would have to kill, and a tutorial explaining the main techniques to be a good deathmatcher. The bots could also be programmed to try to kill you as if they were human players, but in this case I think your stats should not be affected.

In case of being implemented, this training arena should be announced to the new players in big letters when they connect to the game (for example, when connecting with an unregistered nick).

Actually i like this. And zam, here's a suggestion that could actually work: there would be more training arenas IN DIFFERENT VIRTUAL WORLDS so you dont have to find much places.
First area (something like /training1)- would be the normal lesson about lead aim.
Second area (/training2)- a lesson about bullet evading (running in 8 shape and other)--- and in this area you should make a bot repeating the 8 shape running and others (and ofcourse put in bot's name which style is it)
Third area (/training3)- lessong about how to switch (telling exactly what to do, how long to use tec to make it work)
and last one, forth area (/training4)- lessong about how to cbug with deagle (would be really useful for new players)- step by step tutorial, at the end of it shows a complete cbug

after a new player goes through these tutorial, he would get like 50k or something to buy weapons...
All of these are possible to do (including bots doing the things that newbies are learning) and they would help in a life of a new player which comes to LWs. When an unregistered player comes, would be good that u make something like rules announcement. first the rules show, then after the rules show this: "Hint for new players: Pass through DM tutorials to be able to survive here! (/training1, /training2, /training3 and /training4)"

duude u know how much work this coud be for the scripters?
it isnt just with a finger snip this coud take them years to acomplish,
u need to count with bugs gliches that they have to fix and shit like that..
I dont think this woud be posible bcause u cant kill bots as far as i heard..

In this case (with only human players and no bots), which I don't really think is so hard to script (if we have duel arena, the code for the training arena shouldn't be very different), my complete idea is the followiing: as I said, there could be 2 or more human players, and at least one of them would be the teacher (for example an admin, or any regular who wants to help newcomers and keep the server alive). The kills and deaths inside this arena should NOT affect the stats (and this should be clearly announced, for nobody to be afraid of getting into this arena). Instead, there could be a kill and death counter, and when someone's health gets to zero, instead of dying and spawning back in the city, his death counter would add one and his health would be refilled again (this would allow him to keep staying in the arena), until he decides to leave the arena (for example with an /exit command), moment in which his kill and death counters would reset to zero for the next time he gets into the arena again.

Exactly. Ive already suggested something like this (teachers but without the arena) and the first thing I thought about was something to give ppl reason to help newcomers. But there regular could at least still play in normal way, didn't have to stay in the arena or something like that.
I think LW needs something like this but it's really difficult to script and make ppl use this feature...

OR!  u masde small things like this:
the intro in LW server when u enter it shoud be like this
selecting from 20 difrend langueages what most peaple play are ENG, POL, RUS, ESPAN ETC.
when they will select the langueage will come up the rules, then registration, then tips and tricks
like "IF U WANT TO KILL MOVING GUY AIM IN FRONT OF HIM TO KeeL HIM" u dont need a special training system..
but if u want the server coud have an "traning arena" where u can(as u said) "die wihnout  afect on ur stats...
so there coud noobs train they skills with other players like in a DA but rly just "chilin" u now....

Yes it is a good idea would be good practice arena where you fight with some barrels order to kill you .. +1
