Too much hypocrisy...
« on: July 03, 2010, 02:22:18 PM »
Many of you start complaining because racing has become very hard for you due to Rustlers. But not only that, there are other regulars that even want to remove helikilling because it makes their Ammu fights harder. Well, I can tell you all that for a new player, just surviving on LV streets has traditionally (at least until now) had more or less the same difficulty, and that's one of the main reasons why I started dbing. However, here comes the difference: when things get hard for you the regulars, you want to remove what makes it so hard for you (like Rustlers and helikilling), but when the affected are the new and weak players, you don't only care about what makes it so hard for them (like the gangs 4 vs 1 and the stats maniacs that always chase them; only Sneaky has made a suggestion about that), but on top of that, you also want to remove db which is almost THEIR ONLY DEFENCE against that!!!! So I can see clearly that what some of you want is you the regulars to remain untouchable while the weak players are even more fucked!!!

And if I start now using chainsaw, will you suggest to remove chainsaw? and the same if I start using sniper rifle?? ??? ::)

I'm sure that Scott is one of those who ' Complains ', but Scott had a good point.

Quote
- Now that there are over 10 rustlers in the vehicle set, these queer retards have a change of rustler only 10 seconds away no matter where they are.

10 Rustlers on littlewhiteys is way too much, Scott had a good point there.

And if I start now using chainsaw, will you suggest to remove chainsaw? and the same if I start using sniper rifle?? ??? ::)

I don't think so, because you actually can't ruin a car using Chainsaw or Sniper rifle, except if the racer is standing still, plus Chainsaw costs a lot of money, so it's worth it...as you 'may' know you can get Rustlers for FREE at the airport.

You shouldn't make a new topic for such a thing..

I kind of agree though its wrong to have a go at rustlers shooting racers when gangs of regulars go around fighting new players 4 on 1.

Lol? When did you start playing here?
It's like 2 different worlds now compared to 1-2 years ago. Sure new players have been shot back in the days too, but the server had a playeramount of around 100 players average so it's not like you got shot by a gang of 4 regulars over and over again. Now it's just that, empty server + regular players (most of them are idiots and do just that.. making other players leave). No surprise we gain no new players, but I'm repeating myself and the ignorant brats won't understand.

I actually agree with Gryphus. Suggest things where everyone wins. I wouldn't advise to completely remove anything permanently. Dugi is smart though, unlike alot of people posting suggestions.

Ok yes, you are right and you are wrong.

You are right when you say regulars cry alot about their fights being interrupted by db and helikill.
But you are wrong when you say that new players only chance is db and helikill.
You are also wrong when you say if you start using chainsaw or sniper rifle people will complain.

People have complained about db and helikill for a long long time, and granted that it's easier to db than to fight on foot. Helikill has the advantage of killing instantly, but it's not tard easy, and simple to avoid. DB is harder to avoid and even easier to use. The people who are good at rustlers can take down races single handedly. The people who are good at helikill can kill all the fighters at nam in one shot and the people who driveby with skills can end anyones on foot spree in seconds. Here's the thing, lots of DB does not make the server impossible to play in, maybe annoying, but not impossible, and with a few easy tricks it's simple to kill a standard db'er. Helis are annoying, especially in excess, and the major problem is the abuse of it makes people not want to participate in the deathmatch at all, and stay in their cars. So if there were only 1 or 2 mavericks and the rest of the helis remained untouched the game would change alot. And rustlers, either it's really easy to avoid them or extremely close to impossible. In races, if it's all around SA and a semi decent rustler pilot wants you down, your chances of finishing the race are slim, let alone winning. This is why getting less rustlers on the server wouldn't even be the solution, and getting less helis would be (even the admin ones, lets face it, one out of 10 times have those things been used for transportation).

New players, will always have it hard gryphus, this is what you're always failing to understand. No matter what you do the regulars will know the drill and the new guys have to pay the price and learn. This is what I like about this server, is that everyone learns, and giving 50k for registering, a bonus cash prize for tutorials, adding more properties and making the system not allow you to have the cheap and expensive ones at once, are all good suggestions of balance. But if you're going to complain about Xv1, might as well stay in duels or make a clan, it's how the server has always been (and practically any other DM server).

Long story short:
- I think DB is fine as it is, there's valid arguments to remove it and valid arguments to let it stay, so it's somehow punished.
- I think helikill should stay but the amount of helis should be reduced, since that's the only major inconvenience that the helikill brings: excess.
- I think that the only measure against rustlers that should be taken is the one Dominator suggested, having to pay an extra cash price in order to host a non DM race in a different virtual world and in exchange, adding air races with coronas for planes.

I'm glad that splatterpuss and Abnormal agree with me (I didn't expect this Abnormal, after our little fight in the Suggestions board), and I'm also glad that now it seems that Scott and I start to understand us each other, :) and that you prefer Dominator's idea about races rather than the other ones that have been suggested.

1. If I crash in a race, the race is almost over for me. The first 1/4 of the lap is where rustlers can blow that most cars. After that, it gets very very hard if people avoid by using breaks. And even if every airport would have 20 rustlers, you would still need your 4 minutes to get back to the racer you wanted to kill. Scott, please stop talking about things that you never tried and you don't know about.

2. Races get rarely fucked. You guys probably didn't noticed yet, but since Scott made his first thread about these rustlers, I didnt blow any race, even if there were some nice drift races with players i don't like. I was watching if anybody would attack them. In the last days there were like 15 races when I was online. Not even 1 single other rustler in the air. I also wanna  say that I didn't break attacking racers in races because of Scott. If I would be online on normal days I also wouldn't have fucked them because I just was busy with stuff which was more fun. I was just courious if there are really so many people that attack races.

I know this has few to do with your topic alonso, but I hate it when people like BLooDster keep talking shit like "If there are 10 rustlers on the map, races get fucked everytime and nobody can finish, but if there would be 2, everything would be fine and nobody complains about rustlers blowing races"...

nope, leaving it at that, qwerbeet fails to understand a number of things, because all he's ever done is drive to an airport and pilot rustlers on sa:mp

Yourr right Gryphus_One you need to look at what amkes players stay away. Rustlers attackin racers certinaly does not help so would you stop attacking or help defend a rracer from attack ?
