[I] Remove rules agreement
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:33:20 AM »
Like the title says, remove the rules agreement.

When new players join the server, they have to accept the rules in order to play. This sounds nice, but I've seen it happen too many times that some idiots try to join the server, but get kicked because they're too stupid to understand this and just click ok. What happens next, is that they try to rejoin, and get kicked again because they still don't understand. I see this happen everytime I play. This costs a lot of players, cause apparently there are too many idiots/retards/people who don't speak English.

If you get real, the rules agreement is useless (well it's usefull to keep the server empty). People still break the rules, or cheat or abuse. This agreement doesn't help admins or the community in any positive way. Nothing good changed since its introduction. The only thing I've seen is a lot of new players getting kicked for stupidity, not because they just don't agree with the rules. Maybe 1 out of 20 players really doesn't agree, and chooses to leave the server. Actual numbers I don't know, but still too many players try to rejoin and get kicked over and over again, and never come back because they just don't know what's happening.

So please remove this useless agreement, or at least just make an OK button so people won't get kicked.

Totally agree, and this has been talked about several times since it was implemented, because when I play I see many times "whoever has been kicked. Reason: not agreeing to rules", and you can see that player doesn't relog again, but he never comes back, probably because he jumps to the next server on the Samp list.

I agree. Just give them an info: if you don't agree to the rules leave the server now.

I made a topic about that in admin section, unfortunately didn't get much feedback. I seriously hope the agreeing to rules thingy will be removed

For next update the kicking part from this dialog will be removed.

And then, what else will happen if the player doesn't agree?

From another side it is useful for players who keep moaning, for example someone knew that racism is not allowed, but he start acting as if he dosen't know it, I think the rules agreement should stay so just incase something like what I've just said happend mods / admins can tell him that its not their problem that he did not read the rules agreement, just my opinion :P

Well Bloodster, in that case it can be made that the rules dialog appears, but instead of having a button to disagree (which leads to the kick), the text says "if you don't agree with these rules, type /q" and you have only the button to accept.

Yea, or mix this rule dialog with a tutorial.
When they press the OK button after they have read the rules they will get the question if they would like to do a tutorial(with a small reward.)
