(A) i heard alieanwear isnt that good. (cus u really need the fastest CPU you can buy overclocked?)

(B) go on irc and ask people there.

(C) my own personal experience now (which many people will disagree with but there we go)
I got a new pc (a few weeks ago) before i brought anything i asked on irc, and about 6 people from various stores to get a computer which can run games (i can run gta:iv on higest levels and it still doesnt eat up my cpu nor gfx card ram)

So i would suggest you do the same.

A great tip (which someone gave me) was to do this "buy a good "Family pc" (one with the cpu, ram, os and HD you want) for X amount. Buy a good PSU, GFX card and Case - and you have a nice computer.

Also, be aware of CPU's - speed isnt a massive issue any more - L3 and L2 caches are better - more MB on L3/L2 the better the CPU.

CPU's - remember if you go for intel - i7/i5 can both be quad or duel core. AMD are slightly easier X2 - duel, X4 = quad X6 = Hex,

Hmmm what else - Nvidia release the 500 series in a month (or so ive been told) and the 470 is fantastic (except heat issues) so i would suggest a 470/480 or a 500 series (i belive the 470gtx is the cheapest out of them, but its plenty powerful)

Try to get 64X OS (win 7 64) with a cpu which can handle 64bit applications and then get about 6gb ram. Try to get DDR3 Ram as its the newest and fastest.

Hard drives - try to get a decent one with good speeds (ask someone else on this lol)
If you are going to play lots of games, get a big HD (at least 500gb).

PSU - get a good psu, and i would suggest if you need 550W to power gfx card/mobo get about 600-650W for extra power, in case u want to add more later on, or upgrade.

Do not skimp on price. I did once, came back and bit me on the ass. So on this computer i did not. I tried to get as much as i could for my money.

hmmm...i think that is all. IMO DO NOT buy a "gamers pc". I actually got my computer, which is BETTER than a "gamer pc" the store was selling, for 300£ less. And the gfx card and case are better!!

Do not do what i have seen people do "buy two "good" gfx cards and use sli. It wont prodcue as much dedicated video ram as one great gfx card. Go over board on things, and you will be much happier.

Now if you really want i can post the specs of my pc, as i can run gta:iv on max, nfs:hp, and a few other games (i do not play many games atm...waiting for some to come out!)

Other than that as i say use IRC (dugi/carol/benny are good at this, esp dugi and cpus!)
Ask in store, and ummm....i think that is all.

What's the prize range you're looking at, give me the range so I could search you something decent from an Estonian forum.

My PC specs are

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black edition clocked at 3,2 Ghz (black edition means u can overclock it.
Motherboard: MSI 870A-G54
Graphics card: Powercolor PCS+ HD5870 1GB GDDR5
RAM: Kingston ValueRam DDR3 1333 2GB CL9 (got 2 banks so 4 gig in total)
Harddrive: Samsung HD F3 500gig16 mb Sata II (get a Sata III cuz their newer and faster)
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 (650 watts, its a little more than needed but i wanted to have a buffer 550 would have been good enough)
PC Case: Antec Three Hundred.

Bought this for 980 euro in total at that time. I would buy more Ram but 4 gig is sufficient

But for that same budget you could buy the same system as ACE got and have a little extra juice in ur system. Seeing as mine is now already bout 6 months old. Prices went down etc etc. If u need more questions just ask :)

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1035T (yes, im a hex core whore)
Mobo (not the best i know, but works for me) H-Alpinia-RS780L-uATX (Alpinia)
Gfx Card: Geforce GTX 470 Zotac (so it can be over-clocked)
RAM: 6GB DDR-3 (wont tell me producer)
HD: ITB SATA (its either 2 or 3 but i cant find out much about it)
PSU: Corsair 800W gamers PSU (this is a LOT more then i needed. 550 was the min so its a huge buffer, but it was on sale and i wanted the POWER!!! lol)
Case: http://www.maplin.co.uk/jet-turbine-atx-pc-case-48124?c=so&u=strat15 (yes i know the name sucks but the case is awsome!)
OS: Win 7 64x
Also, my computer came with a blueray player, built in tv tuner and wireless card. All in this cost just over £1000. But soooo worth it.

I got this by buying a computer (with the cpu, hd, ram, ect), then i brought the case, psu and gfx card. Then swapped a few things over and boom, a nice pc.

define good lol

hmmm well if cost isnt an issue (no max limit im guessing) then u could wait a month or two,
 get an Core i7-980X (1000$)

a gtx 580 (prob about 500-700$
sata III HD, good mobo (dont ask me) DDR 3 RAM (6-8gb) WIN7 64X OS, 800W PSU (should be enough, but i would check) and a DVD/rw/Blueray Drive, - would only cost about 2000-3000$. lol

Seriously if you have no maximum limit, i would get that cpu wait a month or two and get a 580gtx...just me though - others will probably disagree

I don't think it's worth spending so much on a PC.

Something decent I found, you should have those parts in your country aswell I assume.

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K/ Quad Core/ 8 Threads/ 3.40 GHz/ Turbo / 8 MB Cache / 32 nm / LGA1155 / Sandy Bridge / Unlocked -287.00 €
CPU Cooling: Cooler Master cooler HYPER 212 PLUS - 29.80 €
Motherboard: GIGA-BYTE GA-P67A-UD3, P67, S1155, ATX - 117.05 €
RAM: APACER MEMORY DIMM 4GB PC10600 DDR3/KIT2 DL.04GAJ.F9EK2 APACER *2 - 73.60 €
GFX: XFX HD-695A-CNFC, HD6950, 2GB, GDDR5, 256bit, PCIE16 - 271.40 €
Harddrive: WD1002FAEX, CAVIAR BLACK, 1TB, 3.5", SATA3, 7.2K, 64MB - 76.70 €
DVD: SAMSUNG SH-S223C/BEBE DVD-RW/ 22x DVD+R/ SATA/ Black/ Bare type - 14.40 €
PSU: SeaSonic M12II-620 Bronze - 85.50 €
Case: THERMALTAKE V3 MID TOWER BLACK VL80001W2Z - 43.85 €
SSD: CORSAIR FORCE 90GB 2.5" SSD CSSD-F90GB2-BRKT - 180.70 €

1180€, those are the prices we have here, also putting it together costs like 20€. Roughly 1200€ and you have a PC that will last for a long time. And definitely performance wise better than AMD case. It could cost some more in your country, but with your budget, it shouldn't be a problem.
Easy isn't always simple.

then im guessing with conversion rates/import rates rise the cost....

and would still go for hex-core...seems smarter imo. Why have 4 if you can afford 6? most games only use duel-quad so 2 cores to run background tasks.... but that my opinion :D

buying a PC for 4.000 € is plain stupid unless you really need it for something serious (like work..).

just buy something for 1.000 € and when there is a game that you cant play in max graphics anymore (like in 3-4 years) then buy a new one for 1.000 €. like this you will be able to play any games you want for 10-15 years for 4.000 €. if you buy a monster PC for 4.000 € now it may be able to run any games in the next ~6 years and then its bullshit..

this 4.000 € monsters have an awful cost effectiveness and use up LOTS AND LOTS of energy. you have to calculate that this things might need a 1.500 W. PSU.... thats like a fucking oven.
