This is what I'm using if I really have to download something off youtube (in case I really can't find it somewhere else): http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-MP3-Converter.html
Not 100% sure about spyware or anything, but I never had any problems using this programm.

Another way to download stuff off youtube would be the FireFox plugin DownloadHelper (which is pretty much able to download any media file from an internet site, be it audio, video or graphics, doesn't matter). Only let-down with this method is, it will download the video off youtube as a .flv file which you have to convert into mp3 then for yourself. Not to hard but more work. :P
