Showcase your maps
« Reply #16 on: July 30, 2008, 12:54:07 AM »
My turn.

First I´d like to say, well done to Snipe for two very awesome maps s001 and s002 (btw found your secret shortcut on s001).
Second:

Not so long ago one very favorite map of mine has been deleted from the server due to a couple of bugs. This map was LR-yoyo_10. Yes for those that know it, the two main bugs pointed out in the deleted maps section of the forum, where the start -> it was quite unfair, as all racers were behind each other, and whan vehicle-change-bug, where you ended up under the road, rather then on it. Since this was one of my favorite maps, I heroicly got it from the trash bin of doom(translation: Asked Cygnus if he´d send it to me. He did) And I began work, first thing I fixed(with a little advice from raz0 The start is know neer the large pier under the railroad bridge  (as seen on the picture below), the starting vehicle is the NRG-500.

                                                                                      The starting grid of LR-yoyo_10

The Race then goes up a hill, on whitch lies the second checkpoint, after which you have too alternative routes to descide between, they´r the same lengh, so no trouble there.

Two Alternative Routes after cp #2

These two routes then combine into one again at cp #3 , and head on under the orginal start of the race(it´s delted so no need to look for it) after one sharp turn, your on route for cp #4(#2 in the original version), whitch changes you into an Infernus and puts you on route to the orginal gap jump, at whitch the car-change-bug used to be, when the landing infernus would sudenly change into a Sandking, but not anymore this problem is fixed.

Combining the two routes, and entering a sharp courner,
after with the old route and original start used to be.

So this is the map I fixed, I´m uploading it onto the server as we speak, I just hope it passes, Ill update you on this thread. In other News, I´m curently working on a map project of my own, looking forward to posting it here.

Thanks, I has to fixxx the start of S002 though, since raz0 thinks it's necessary :P... I also have to fix some other maps which Cygnus sent me a million years ago! Priorities, priorities... sigh

OH it's nice to see this thread pop as I was actually working back on one of my best map that was deleted due to the end being screwed up.

If anyone remembers, I was working on race called "Sunset Ridge", if you looked up the MTA forums, it's located there: http://forum.mtasa.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=19997

Anyway, I trashed the part starting from the 180degrees turn, since it was going back to the other part of the race, I blew up the object limit, Raz0 had a quick look at it before last map testing session but I had to make some adjustements, I'll be testing it a bit then uploading it on the servers.

Another update from my part. I'm currently working on a new DD (I believe it's called like that). It's called Dash_Or_Die_By_Snipe. Basicly, what it is, it's an obstacle course with jumps, vehicle changes and a lot of, obviously, obstacles ;D

Here's a little preview

The start is in the 2 hangars

Here's one of the vehicle changing points

I can not tell you more about the map, since I'm still working on it... It will get more stuff and more obstacles when I find some time to build it... I also can't determine when it probably will be ready. I will try to update as often as possible :)

OH NOES, double posting :(
Ah well, just want to show you guys some new screens of my upcoming new DD map or whatever it's called. Here goes:

I think this is a LW's first. It's grinding with a Monster across some fences (which off course cannot break :) ).

There are 2 of those grind-parts, a short one and a longer one with a little slope in it. It's kind of tricky, so you might be carefull there :)

Nothing new here, it's a (kind of) hard obstacle course for the NRG-500. The first part is really steep (the section on the right of the screenie above), with some flat pieces in it, so you can stop there and take deep breath for the following steep parts. Then a thicker part (the yellow ledges in the middle of the picture), which is the middle section of the whole obstacle. The last part is slightly going up (as can be seen on the left of the screenshot), in which case you have to be carefull with the throttle there, as you might back flip yourself of the ledge ;D

It's almost done, I have to take care of some parts where you might find a shortcut which shouldn't be there. So I'll close those gaps and maybe later next week I'll upload it to the server, so we can test it ;D

this is my last race, sorry for the video quality  :-\

:D
It's not that bad, you can see my name and me a couple of times driving alongside of you! I finished 3rd in that race :(... But for the first time it's okay I guess (I said that too back there loool) :P

If you're planning on making more of those, could you perhaps make like an High Quality one too? Just like Alpha did with the Challenge-race between Iltigo and Micro...

My shitty maps, let me show you them.

I've uploaded some of them here, and they're mainly small and simple circuit maps, with very few devious tricks. ;)

Enjoy! :D
