i use vista and i've got this latly, it just closes itself and doesn't say anything else sometimes :o i use windows xp compatability mode and this rarely happens, (xp was the biggest operating system when san andreas was released, im no nerd but i'd say it'll work best in that mode) i dont even mind constant crashing and having to restart every few minutes (i play vcmp :D) it's just when that pesky login bug gets you  >:(

i have vista D: and i run the game in normal mode as an administrator, and duel core and it works 95% of the time

I have sa-mp crashes atm which are new and odd and i used to have the access violation stuff

Im not sure how i got rid of the access violation stuff lol - it just went away - it noramlly to do with 2 programs in conflict - mine were SAMP/NTD.DLL,, Wintv, and a download thing on wondows - stopped these and :D

to find out wats actually causing the crash open in vista the  "event log"  find out the crash and look at the names of the programs - will be like this:
"Faulting application gta_sa.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4270f18a, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0003b507, process id 0x83c, application start time 0x01c8eb4aca11c95e"

samp  and ntd.dll caused the crash, and the codes can be looked up :D -btw if u find this u cant replace ntd.dll - u gotta change compatibilty modes

Remember - try all compatibity modes - (for some reason) One compatinbility mode may work on for one person it may be diffrent for another

XP works for Wicker, win98/Vista works for me :o

Ok i think i found the annoying problem , i changed the compatibility to windows 2000 and omg it works i played and no crashs ( for the moment ) , then the solution like ace said it is to try testing  all compatibility :)))
Hope it will be work long time :)
Thx again .

yeah i had sp1 - i noticed no diffrence in anything inc performance (which sp1 is suposed to improve) so i got rid of it lol

Downlaods should affect sa-mp (afaik) and i have auto updates on - except for sp1 it will nah be allowed

Also my desktop loves me so pffffff

I think diffrent versions and diffrent windows vista just act funny at times.

the answer is really simple...
DONT USE VISTA!
windows 7 (codename vienna) better be alot better than vista, otherwise say baibai to microsoft!
i had vista for 2 weeks, shredded the disk and felt alot better about myself!

watch that!

you say you like vista, nerds tell you something else is better, say you use windows media player? pffff no way! use winamp! mention a game you like, some dork'll point out it got a gamespot score of 6.2, while another game got 6.3 ... don't be like that! no one here wants to hear about windows 7 (codename vienna)! most peole don't have the time/money/patience/lack of social life to go and uninstall a new operating system, buy a different one that no ones heard of, install and run that, (i hear installing a new operating system wipes you hard drive?), just to make a game that occasionally crashes once every 3 hours stop doing that, i like vista because it looks nice and hurts nerds feelings when they see your using it (not you edit you just pointed out another ones better  :-*) i love going onto youtube, saying vistas good, and watching abusive angry hateful comments rolling in from basement dwelling, socially inept, world of warcraft playing dorks (ive noticed their favourite operating systems are linux and windows 95, but most people dont even know what those are) :D, really try it! i'm sure there will be other upgrades for vista to make it more stable or what have you, so to me anyway, changing operating systems is a real useless idea (remember edit most people have 1 computer, not 10 ;)!)

ummm also remember Windows XP was not an overnight sucess - it took about 1-3 years to get it all right with fixes, patches, serverice packs, etc. . .

Vista will get better but i fear that the compatibility issues will never be solved :(
