Hey! I've been throwing around this idea of music competitions.
Would you wanna compete?
The rules are kinda shady at the moment but this would get me active enough with my music.

The idea is to make a mix of a song within a months time period. The song is chosen through the opponents one month one competitor will have a song of choice next month the other person will have the song of choice and you make your own original mix with either the Vocals or the Instrumentals of that particular song. You can use any additional software but the method has to be your own...
The Reward will be in LW's currency.  (2,500,000) Winner takes all type of deal.

This will give people a chance to discover music and make $ Ingame.

(FL Demo users are not excluded.)
To Save: Write the beat from Channels to Playlist as Pattern 1 ect. then File>Export>MP3
To Re-Open: Right click in Channels click Insert>Audio clip then click it and drag the sound wave in Playlist where you can fit it into the rest of the song.

Slots:
#1. SUPERBAD
#2. wWII
#3. HardyHar
#4. AbnormalFace (May be removed if I don't hear from him by Sat.)
#5. RedFusion
#6. Faraday
#7. -open-
 *Sign ups end Saturday.*

From now on you have to fill out a card to compete:
(So we'd know what to expect.)

Name:
Music Genre:
Experience/Years:

By years I mean how many years have you been using music software. (No not iTunes.)

Event Starts next Monday!
Competitors read:
So that gives us some time to find out which song we are going to be mixing / editing.
During the rest of this week you (the competitors) will need to have a song of Choice.
On Saturday / Sunday we vote for which song will be mixed and On the First of November all submissions are due. If it goes well there may be a next one proceeding this one in November.

Songs to vote on: (Competitors post up some more of a selection.)
-Lover boy - Turn me loose (Requested by SUPERBAD) pg.2
-We have all the time in the world - Louis Armstrong (Requested by SUPERBAD) pg.3
-I'll be there - Michael Jackson (Requested by HardyHar) pg.3
-Tight Pants Rap - Ninjasonik (Requested by HardyHar) pg.3
-Negitive thinking about Tight Pants (Requested by HardyHar) pg.3

Does it need to be FL? I have other programs, which I'm more used to use.. :/
And I would love to compete!

Nah, I guess anyone can compete using whatever software they use.
Not everyone uses FL Studio.

This is just simply getting er' asking if this is ok to do.
Same rules apply though...

Anyone want to help with setting up the rules n' stuff?
Are the prices too high? Should I lower them?

As a suggestion, maybe you guys should bet money, like each 500k or w/e and the winner gets the total. The more participants the more interesting it gets.

some people who join in the event might be placing an already remixed music and that would screw up the event but who would do that?

maybe I can provide vocal tracks, so everyone can use the same tracks?

EDIT: do you mean like a remix of a song (vocal tracks & making new music) or a plain mix of different tracks (recorded song?)

@Scott: That's what's already established.
500K as an entry fee winner takes all.
But I'm wondering if that is too high of an entrance fee?

@Spaz: Eh I doubt it. I will have the competitors search for remixed versions. Worst case, we would have the person show how they did the mix if it is necessary. I'm sure we all have FRAPS here I wonder if you can record using that. If not there are screenshots that can be made.

@faraday: Soo, you know how to extract vocals / ect. out of any MP3 using Audacity?
o.o - I don't use Audacity but I wanna learn that. I'm gonna Re-Download it just to learn that.

Oh I just read the edit... I was going for the vocals ect. from another song, I've found lots of vocals from artist on youtube. This is more like making a REMIX of it rather than mixing and fitting tracks into one another.
I would say it's ok to mix but you still need something original of your own that you did towards the final mix of the song.

@Slice: Bet's? lol
Ohh there goes my confidence level. ._.
Nah, I'm gonna give it my all. Time for the Underdog to show what he is made of.

Audacity? Never heard of it :p

No I mean I can get hold of recorded audio tracks (through school or sth) which we can use in whatever way we like...
Like that remix I made, which I posted here somewhere. That was the exact same thing as you suggested..

There is tut's at the top on using Audacity now.
I need to go to school now but when I come back I'll look for the Removing Instrumentals so the only thing that's audible is the vocals. There is a process where you block out the instrument's with two of the same MP3's one of the instrument and one of the Full song.

I usually look for acapellas, they are often on the single/maxi records.
