This one is unusual for them, but for god's sake, that's how you make a cover! This was stunning. The intensity and especially the way the tension was built up till it exploded at the last chorus was unreal. This side of Disturbed I've never seen until now.
They freaking nailed it, 200 % worth listening

This side of Disturbed I've never seen until now.eheh indeed, they surprised me too with this excellent work: Draiman's voice here is absolutely perfect, i love how it turns from clear and smooth into more aggressive and rough, creating that climax effect that makes the song sound somehow imperious.
Oh, this reminds me of another excellent cover from Disturbed. I like both this and the original version by Genesis, but Disturbed's one brings in the much needed aggressiveness. I think the message of the song is more topical now than ever..

Nice job Falk3n!Rly thanks for your reply, mate. I use Guitar Rig 5, and the sound comes from my PC, that's why it can't be clean and perfect. I must buy an amp. As you said, there is a bad sound comming exactly on the chords. The PC cannot exactly output the right sound, which is a big minus.
Like you mentioned the sound quality isn't that good and sadly in the first two videos your guitar tracks kinda get lost in the mix. Perhaps you could've turned the backing tracks down a bit.
The sound is more clear in the last video though and it has some nice clean playing there as well and it sounds cool. I'm not sure whether it's your guitar tuning being slightly off or if there's something wrong with your grip because there's definitely something a bit out of tune, especially when you play chords. These are not major things but wanted to let you know instead you missed them yourself :)
All in all, nicely done and it was pretty solid at times. Keep on practicing, a fine hobby you've got there. ;)

Despite the sound Guitar Rig 5 is a useful program though, I think I've got a copy lying around somewhere too. It came with a MIDI synth I bought, along with bunch of other programs by Native Instruments. Good stuff.

Nice job there! But i don't know why, i can't get used to Metalcore :/ Classic Heavy Metal is my thing i guessMate, it was just the same with me. Listened only Metallica, sometimes Guns & Roses, Slayer... never listened to something harder. These metalcore bands will never get the glory of Metallica, for example :) But I got addicted to it and can't stop listen to it now... this inspires me a lot. Who knows, maybe one day I'll start listen Black Metal (lol, please God, I don't want this to happen PLS !! ) :D :D

wow these guys are good, thanks for the suggestion Darfy, you're always a certainty :D (finally a song which emphasizes the bass!)Haha thanks and you're welcome, I actually had an urge to share this song simply because it's completely nuts. Complex music is something that deeply interests me and this song is easily the most difficult stuff to play I've heard in a while. I'm learning this track on drums at the moment, the so called "chorus" is nothing too hard apart from a few odd poly-rhythmic patterns, but the verse with the slap guitar thingy is just insane, despite that it's all in 4/4 (which is rather unusual for these guys) but the fast foot triplets make it extremely hard.. Maybe in a few months...
I was "removing the dust" from an old Dream Theater's underrated song, Scarred.Awake is an incredible album. It has this certain type of dark atmosphere to it that lasts throughout the whole album. Erotomania (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3JQyV4dUKM) is my long-time favorite, but honestly I don't think it has a single bad song. Well actually the same applies to all Dream Theater albums that were made prior to Portnoy's departure, apart from the one they made back in Majesty days. The new albums with Mangini sure do have their moments, Breaking All Illusions is a wonderful song for example, but overall the albums are definitely weaker. Mangini is a great metal drummer and has a lot of merits but especially on live DVDs he lacks feel and groove, badly. It's almost like the playing is coming from a drum machine rather than a human. Plus that Portnoy always was the front man of the band and in live he had his own little show going on in the back constantly and it was fun watching him do his stuff. You should check out their 20th anniversary DVD Score (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLnghhxXtlM&list=PL-SCEpLztqHrQQPEn3NShqMopcjmykkdP), if you haven't already. I'd say it's their best live performance, LaBrie nailing every note and they have an orchestra in the back and all. Good days, DT will never be the same again..
It has to be one of the most hard rock DT's songs, plus there's a great guitar solo at the end, it's worth a listen:

yeah i agree with you, Portnoy had more "soul" and he's always been a funny guy, but i think also Mangini is a nice person and has great skills.I was "removing the dust" from an old Dream Theater's underrated song, Scarred.Awake is an incredible album. @Quickplay: I've been aware of Winery Dogs ever since they started it in 2012, but after years and years of listening to DT, in some strange way I wasn't comfortable with MP being in a different band so I guess I never gave these guys a change.
Talking about Portnoy being in a trio, have you ever heard about the Liquid Trio Experiment?Heh actually I found out about Liquid Tension Experiment before Dream Theater. I used to listen to King Crimson a lot back in the day and ended up checking if any of them were doing other projects and found out Tony Levin was in this all-star group called LTE. Universal Mind caught me immediately and I thought to myself "damn I want more of that fast and incredible playing" so that's how I got to know about DT.
The story behind this experiment is curious: it started as a quartet, the "Liquid tension experiment", which was a kind of Dream Theater 2.0 since the line up was formed by Portnoy, Rudess and Petrucci (according to MP's intentions it should have been Steve Morse if i remember right, but he was busy)...only the bassist wasn't one of them.
They recorded a few albums, one of their famous songs is Acid rain, which DT sometimes played live in their concerts.
Reading on wikipedia about them i've found a funny story about one of their concerts, when there was a problem with Rudess' keyboards...so the others started improvising and they ended up playing each others instruments lol (you can read about this here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_the_Keyboard_Breaks:_Live_in_Chicago))Never bumped into that clip before, but more importantly never knew that the Wizard can rock the guitar too! Once you master the fingerwork I guess it makes no difference what instrument you apply it on ;D ;D
I guess you can say that these guys can't get caught unprepared!
If you've never seen Rudess playing guitar or Portnoy playing the bass, then head to the end of this video:
