the start is confusing, add more cps.

if i add new cp at start, it will be the war to touch it because the checkpoint isn't enough high for the width of the road. it's why i place the 1st cp after the first turn. but i add arrows and i repost it. see next testing

i find a looping editor in mr-green forum.
if you want to build a looping easily, you have to download it.
after 4 or 5 try, you can have 1,2,3 or4 loopings on your map. Nice!
i don't really try the others uses but you can build helix (try it).

nice, you told me earlier of this. I personally dont like loopings and helixs (since i have a deep hate against going_down like maps :P)... More people would agree with me on that... But nevertheless, for people who like these kind of obsticles can have some fun with it! :)

you can download every map post by someone. after download, place the .map in this folder: MTA San Andreas\mods\map_editor\maps and load it in the map editor!

- IMO you should avoid putting something difficult RIGHT at the end. (raz0) :P
- This map was better before (where it was not perfect). It just completely lost it's soul (raz0)

i'm right with raz0, it's not the map i would be post. At the moment, i trying to rebuild completly the drift zone and the looping area.
i've a question: if i fix el-brujo_1 and i upload it, is there a risk you delete it and you delete the old version in the map testing ? :P

No. If you upload an update to a map we will carefully consider whether we like the new map better. If we do, it will replace the old map. If we don't, the old map stays.

thx for the informations raz0!
after a test with raz0 (thx2), i fixed the loopings series, but after a test on the server with knux, many players think that the series are too hard.
so, i refixed the series and i replaced the old series (2x3loops) by a new one (1 in 2 loops, 1 in 2.5 loops & i increased the looping's radius).
i think that the new version is better for playing. so, choose the best version ( if you approved it :P)
the name of the new version is fuckingham-palaceV2.map

Yes, sadly, the map center has been taken down. I think that the MTA devs haven't really decided yet if they bring it back and what to do with all its maps. See http://forum.mtasa.com/viewtopic.php?t=21982 .

Not all maps, but it's possible to friendly request a few maps and I will probably send them to you.

i search after an object in the editor: it looks like a mine but if you knock it, you jump in space ( like a cheater who knock you). there is this object at the end of loop of the poop. so if someone have this id,...

can you be more specific about this new tool... it's still unclear to me what you can do with it?
Is it that you can pick an object, get the id of it and than use it in the map editor???

I would use a backup copy of SA using MED, just in-case you change something

ps2: just a little thing: raz0 ask us (one day!) to build new maps.so i tried to build differents races. if rc & kart (& trucks) races are deleted automatically, which little vehicle can we use? it's boring to have some infernus, sandking or nrg500 races. littlewhitey is fun because of the various races.
ps3: most of the maps are too tight for 32 gamers, so when i see that:

Check with cygnus first cos it might be laggy but the flower pot (rc cam) is another cool
small vechile but only if you have a good ideas cos the handling SUKS. oh you need to
add the ID to mta's vechile file for this.
I can understand your vision for all i think of your maps its just some things dont work
with a lot of players - or at all. thats no bad thing if you continue to improve map making skill :)

That's a great idea. As LW's first map-fixer-person (:P) i also perhaps can add some comments. Seen about 10 maps now which i fixed, a lot of times people just forget that these maps they're making have to be played by 32 players simultaneously max, resulting in way too tight startlines, too small cp's, bad area's to play with 32 ppl, etc., etc.... in short: not very thought out most of the time :P
A guide to map designing would therefore be great stuff! :D

i was thinking of adding vechile change soloutions. say you
get stuck in road problem / stuck in other vechiles the fix is
to change up in sizes instead of going from a faggio to roadtrain
in one go I'd think about the ammount of others likely to be around
like at start = lots of changes or if its gonna be later on in the race
(not a cluster point!) with room to get the change in only 2 goes
include the terrain (and the next vechiles height) when deciding
aswell and you have a working solution :)
theres loads of little tips like this i'm sure we could benifit from

that's right brujo, i think that's a great initiative... still, saying it is easier than aplying it... I asked Cygnus some time ago to adjust such a thing, same for the stats... but it has to do with the scripting... Also, too much messages about certain LW sites can be seen as inappropriate or spamming... But offcourse, one message covering both stats and the forum would be great if it were shown for like around every 15 minutes or so

i don't think you have to make a new line in the scripting. you can use the command !mtastats and replace the mtastats's link by the forum's link. in fact the !mtastats still exist but it don't appear every 15 minutes so i don't think it create a problem like spam. the !stats isn't very used too by the players.
oh you can use the !commands to make the forum's link

I do not know if this is the right place to ask about this... but... here goes...
Every time I try to save a map, I get an error in the Runtime Library, the game crashes, the map is not saved, and I end up pulling a few hairs out.
What do I do? I have nice race ideas ("well of course you think you have nice race ideas, enzo, THEY ARE YOURS YOU SELFISH LITTLE...") but they are all scrapped by this error... obviously.

hi Enzo03, you're asking if this is the right place to post, I bet your problems involves MTA:SA? I don't know this problem, maybe you can find on the official website of MTA:SA (http://www.mtasa.com (http://www.mtasa.com)). Check with the "Known issues"-part or perhaps on their forums... Hope you will find the answer to your problem :)

Hints
- make the map timelimit shorter than 10 minutes when the race takes less time. This makes it more challenging.
- make wide checkpoints, but don't spam them because they might block your view.
- colour the vehicle change checkpoints. This prevents sudden changes, thus prevents nasty crashes.
- this is my opinion: never make vehicles with any sort of guns in a race. There will always be people that kill others
- don't spam vehicle changes. Take DROPOUT2 as an example of how you must not do it.
- try to add a flow in your map -- if you ever miss a cp in your own map, it might be that the cp is placed badly.
- add repairs to every race. The good spots are right after or even on the start, because of cluster forming, in the middle one or two times. Don't spam them. I prefer maps were repairs lay on a different, slower route. This way you must try not to crash often.
- nitro does not always make a map better. Make nitrous harder to pick up, but be sure that you still have advantage by picking up a nitro.
- make a wide start, although it's very hard to prevent clusters on a server with 32 max players.
- don't make your map too long. When you are testing your own map, try to mark the good parts and when the good parts stop, it's best to make a finish. This doesn't mean you can't make maps of 20 minutes duration. Theres actually a really good map this long, but I've forgotten it's name.

If you want to have a server to test your map, create by yourself. you can find the method easily if you search on google. it cost you 10 minutes to build it.

I have a message regarding a little map project of my own.
The map I am working and am nearing the finish, is called F01_RockAndRoll_by-Iltigo (yes, yes I got the idea from S001/2_by_snipe, dont critise yet), its a kinda skilled map. I´m gonna post pictures and more infor as soon as its done, but my question is, if a map made on purpouse to be hard can be accepted, I mean its a map with a either long, or no respawn, havent descided yet, something in the category of RUn_RUN_Run only no running but you do have natural enemies here a kinda race deathmatch. So I wanna know if a map like this can be accepted on the server. Even tho the start might be kinda unfair(trying to avoid clustering tho), some players dont get to race etc.

It's a bad habit of Snipe and El-brujo to come up with one name and then just add successive numbers to that name for the rest of their maps. Be more original with your map names - please. :/
We also generally don't like races with no respawn. People don't want to wait around for 3 minutes while people complete a race if they join late. Why not let them race too? Anyway, we routinely add respawn to maps that lack it, so if you don't add it, we probably will. :)
One important thing if you are thinking of letting some people race and some people not, is that it's best to give people the choice. Some people just want to race all the time, so don't force them into something they don't want. People's mood might also change, so some days they might want to DM, others not. Rao got a Cops'n'Robbers map deleted recently because it forced some people to be cops.
An unfair start isn't a big problem, so long as it's not like some people get a one minute headstart. :) In my oppinion a little unfair start is far better than a cluster start, so don't worry about it too much.
As for whether a map that is hard on purpose can be accepted - sure. I am guessing you don't want to add a lot of repairers? So long as there are repairers available after the start, should any clustering occur, I don't see a problem with a repairer-scarce map - so long as you only die through your own clumsiness, that is. I do, however, think that you should have enough health to bump into one or two walls without being unable to complete the race.

It's not a bad habit, since the races are part of a series :P... But from now on, I'll switch to individual map names, although I probably will make a S003 map :P

Uh.. can't remember. Even Knuckles can't remember the difference between his own maps Another-Offroad-Race-by-Knuckles, Another-Offroad-Race-2-by-Knuckles, Another-Offroad-Race-3-by-Knuckles, Another-Offroad-Race-4-by-Knuckles, how are normal players supposed to?! If you want to make a series, come up with some kind of subtitle or suffix to distinguish the maps instead. An example of an off-road series would be Offroading-Mud_on_my_fender-By_Snipe, Offroading-Beach_Volley-By_Snipe and so on...

i don't think it's stupid. with 767 maps on the server, it's a bit hard to remember the races you like.the bad habit to vote for the same races is stupid. 11 races in the top 30 of races played on the server have got a series name. when people like a map, they vote easily for the 2 or 3 because they know one of it.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I know that it is more convenient for you, the map author, to name your races with successive numbers, among other things, for the following two reasons:
- It's easier to choose the next integer than come up with an original name
- New maps can leach off of the name of old maps
But why should we reward the laziness? Why should a mediocre map (The-jumper2 - sorry brujo :() be allowed to mooch off of an excellent one (The-jumper)? I still can't remember the difference between the Lr-yoyo maps, even though they vary heavily in quality and even though they've thinned dramatically in numbers on this server lately. Thus, if I vote for an Lr-yoyo map, I'll often end up disappointed, because I expected another, better map.

No actually, I wanted to give my maps a name, that would make sence, and just to clear things up the RockAndRoll part of the map is the name of only that one map ... i.e. I´ve got a map I´m workin on that´s called IR001_GoingDown_by-Iltigo. But just to clear things up heres the way I name my maps:

I am in need of help. I have an issue with my map editor, whenever I try to use F9 to copy something the whole game crashes, and it says: ERROR: could not find core dump file. If anyone knows how to fix this pls help

Nope. They're on the server though they haven't been tested yet, so they may still get deleted. They are called:
EUROTUNNEL_by_ROMBESS
ARIZONA_RIDE-move_to_the_end
The upload script replaces whitespace with underscores, as you can see.
