The idea with this is not to split players, but try to actract new ones. We are going to struggle getting new players on LVDM for problems that me and eDiT cannot solve (the annoying playerbase). However if we try to branch out into something where lots of players are, we might be able to steal some for ouirselves.

Check here; http://monitor.sacnr.com. There are plenty of players still in SA:MP, its just attracting them with something they want to do.

It would be nice to give it a try. If we do, I'd agree with Shizalk with mini-missions. We could give other GM's a try as well.

Btw,LWs not dead,we're getting 30-40 players every day(not new,players ingame).

The main reason would be to see what sort of different server people here would like, but it may also end up being something that we know will attract players more, if no one here can come up with a good idea, and there's also a high chance that'd be scripting.

The rules of this new server would also need to be a lot stricter, so people couldn't exploit, glitch abuse and generally fuck up things like they do on the current server. I am hoping to get eDiT to rewrite the LWLVDM rules at some point to put and end to the pathetic crap the players get up to.

Myself and eDiT have come to an agreement. I won't give too much detail until things are more solid.

Rest assured I hope that lvdm update a will not stall through it.

This, 100%.  The second part is a whole other conversation, but I agree :)

Anyways, to address some concerns.  Runi pretty much took care of all of that to be honest though :)

Well,since i've read the replies after mine,thought about them & this is what i think and suggest:
@Chiroki - The idea i hate the most is turning LVDM into a Roleplay server,and RP Servers in general.
@Fraw - No,new server will bring new,fresh players which would probably lead to LW gaining newbies/players afterwards,of course if it gets hosted.Yeah,some players will also starting playing on LWs 2nd server,but i'm sure they won't stop playing on the main one,'cause they've had a lot of fun there. -1
@SKY - Yes,could do the work,but it depends on the type of the objectives we would possibly add.
@Goggi - I'll say it to once again.Making another server is not gonna hurt,and wouldn't make the main one emptier,but would help to grow to what it used to be and gain players.
@Diablo & Qwer - Agree with your suggestions,but don't make it like that it looks totally same to RP.I like Gang Headquaters,Cargo Airplane,Player Houses.

Remember,this is just my opinion about this.  :D

One thing I want to stress, is that this will NOT impact littlewhitey's current playerbase.  It will be a completely different gamemode style, and we plan on having it on the hosted tab as well, so of course we will be attracting a completely different audience.  The intention is not to loose players or give up on LW_LVDM, it's only to help build up and expand the current littlewhitey's community :)

A separate server would divide the player base. I'd select the server with the better race script and never visit the other server. Each of us would select the element that they enjoy the most and never join the other server. Why would they?

Has anyone here ever registered an account on a roleplaying server and spent serious time playing? I'd imagine most of us haven't. The truth is, anybody who has already invested hundreds of hours into a roleplaying server isn't going to leave anytime soon. Why would they? And the handful of players that "server-hop" (the noobs we often see roaming our streets) are hackers looking for a playground. So, with those two facts considered, the number of new players that could potentially enter our server looking for a permanent home is extremely small when compared with the total number of active SA-MP players. There isn't much we can do about that.

In other words, most players are either already married, or just looking for a fuck.

How do we resolve this problem? Build a server that caters to a large palette of player desires with several unique "only-at-littlewhiteys" features integrated. Build an environment that feels like a home. Yes, this means we will need to cut ties with our "pure death-match" mentality, which I believe most of us have already done. We're actually well on our way to success. Disregarding the radical one-off player spikes, has our average player count increased since let's say this time last year? I don't have the data to support my answer, but I would assume it has.

I understand Fusez is permanently banned, but he has made some phenomenal game modes. Nitrous that can be injected manually with an actual meter - like a real car? He's done it. I can't even remember all of the fantastic ideas he's implemented in a test environment because the next idea immediately surpasses the last. His departure isn't insurmountable, but I'm going to tell you right now he holds the key to a quick turnaround. Just look at the Christmas snowfall in the server right now. Has anyone else seen that on other servers? I'm not saying his scripting ability exceeds that of RDL, but damn - that kid is creative as hell. He thinks of the coolest shit. The shit we need.

You're free to leave this topic too,you know.There might be some people that are interested in this,and some good replies appear time to time on this topic,like enkei's,that almost made me cry(i'm serious).He's telling the truth,Fusez indeed did a very nice job,and also the christmas tree he's made is pretty much awesome! I support his comment,but unfortunately,i'm not the one who decides.
Well,i've been active for whole year and i can admit the playercount has grown up to 30 - 60 players.We surely improved LWs! Let's continue,since community has been doing a pretty good job!

Back on topic: @Fraw - Basically,as far as i can read from your reply,you're saying command such as '/quote ID' is not a waste of time,and making another server & possibly increasing the playercount(bringing some more fun) is waste of time? Let's stop there for a second and think about it more.
/quote ID command doesn't really give players any benefits,neither does help the server to grow.Am i right,no?  :D

Yes Fraw, you are one of the players that fall into the "annoying playerbase". There are just some players that are not healthy for a server's growth - that constantly shoot down potentially beneficial ideas, always complain that "we're not doing the right things", when in reality - the problem stems from the players themselves.  When things start to pick up and become better, you're the type of person who still complains and focuses on the negative factors, picking out things we could be doing better still.  So frankly, at this point, I don't care about your opinions anymore. 

It's time to heal the server from the toxic players that continue to infect it.

The reason this post even exists is because we want to hear actual suggestions and honest opinions on things before we are to even execute something as big as this.  But instead, as usual, we get more unneeded and useless criticism.

Does anyone ever want things to change, for better? When people post bullshit, it certainly doesn't seem that way.

The server that me and eDiT have decided upon is one that is very far from LWs, and would share very little in common with it. Which would hopefully not cause this sort of divide, but infact bring more people to LWs as a whole.

We also said that we'd probably use a testing period of about a month or two to gauge if the idea is going to work, and if so, keep it all running, or if not, close it down and revert back to just LVDM
