So we give the newbie 100k of our cash, then kill the newbie, get our cash back, then sod off and benefit every time he gets a kill.

It's not difficult to prevent from this. Teacher should be punished for killing his pupil - loosing cash from bank or just loosing the pupil. Or both. But I think that there should be loosing cash from bank and opportunity for pupil to end the teamwork immediately.

Fuse, u say it's too complicated. Maybe, but it's still helpful. If there are better ways to reach my target, post it here. Newbie chat channel? Maybe it's a good idea, but I just don't see it working. Where would it appear? Remember, that nobody wants virtual worlds in a DM. But I like the idea about /fighttips or something like this.

And Bandic, I don't see how could we abuse this. I mean, there are many ways, but it's really easy to prevent from them. And if you really think that we should leave newbies alone, as it is now, and there is no need to help them get started, then there is no need for such a system. But I think it's a bit too hard for new players now.

Not worth scripters' time. If someone wants to help a newbie, he/she can do it without cmd's.

Course he/she can. But he/she usually does not :P The target of this system is not to give regulars opportunity to help, cause they have it all the time. The target is to make it easier for new players to get to know with the server features and make them stay with us for a long time, by forcing more ppl to help them. I don't care why regulars would want to help new players, it's just better for the server if they will. That's my opinion.

Maybe you are right. Maybe it's too complicated, not worth scripters time. Maybe we could just make a vote or something once a month for the best helper, and the winners would gain some prizes. But how to make something like this when most of the newbies don't visit the forum? I don't know, that was just my idea to increase ammount of regular players by showing newbies reasons to stay.

How about this, maybe there should be a command like /newbie - /needcash or whatever, then it marks the newbie who wrote this with a different color, then if the regulars wants to pay them some money, they're free to do it.

Nice idea but it's quite a lot of work for something that may not get used often. I have been thinking about a script-based tutorial for 3.0, one that takes you through the gamemodes hotspots and gives prompts about what they are.

We could make a /newbies command or something for the current gamemode which will list people who have played for less than X hours allowing you to offer your teaching services out of the "kindness of your heart".

Would be a good idea with that command.

It's not necessary to make a special system for this. Helping newbies is something you should do because you care about the server, not because you want to get rewarded for it. The best reward is that these people will come back when you help them, who cares about money anyway. I agree that newbies care about money, but it's something that's really easy to obtain, and why not help them for free? I do it always this way, and these people still play in this server.

Dont know when sa-mp was first released but san andreas was out for the pc in 2005, ie. 5 years ago.

Beta released in 2006, I started playing on LW at the end of 2006 and I can't remember Enkei..

But its a pretty good idea +1..

Lol I understand enki's mistake. When I was in MW ive told someone I had been in it for about two years, when the clan havent existed even for 1,5 year then. But i think that is good - that means Im not a nerd, I don't care so much about a game :P

I've been playing littlewhiteys for 5 years.. Who's my "master"?

Becuse i still suck. =P
O really, youve been playing for 5 years? Wow, i didnt know that you played GTA SA even before it got released on the PC, not even talking about SA-MP.

I started playing SA-MP very shortly after its release. I've been playing it for 4-5 years my friend. Back when the admins were adamcs, dugi, and LnX. Now i never see them anymore. Back when there were no banks, races, gangs, or anything. All there was, was the pirate ship. And i hated starting with only a deagle, so i mostly played on the partyserver. But my point is, learn your material before you try to badmouth somebody. Because that was a poor attempt.

Why is everybody so anxious to be better than someone else? Sheesh.

If a newbie is marked with a different color, many "pros" will know they have an easy target to kill.
